dogmatic.

Relating to, characteristic of, or resulting from dogma.
Characterized by an authoritative, arrogant assertion of unproved or unprovable principles.

Yes, thank you. I know what dogmatic means. smiley - rolleyes

Saying 'catmatic' was a joke. Obviously one that backfired.

Petty hate: awkward customers that appear just as you're about to go on tea break.

Buying a big bunch of watercress and then finding soggy, rotten bits in the middle.

I had that with a bag of salad the other day - I was not impressed.

It makes me paranoid. I keep thinking 'they knew that was there and they just hid it in the middle of the good salad'. I know they didn't but that doesn't help when you are in the middle of making soup.

How do you make soup out of salad, Eloisa?smiley - huh

People who stand right outside my office door and chat, loudly, and laugh even louder, while I'm trying to work.
Seems to be a British thing to stand in the doorway of your house and talk to neighbours/friends. I don't get it and it looks very rude. Why not invite people in???

OK, when I said soup I was refering to the watercress. Although lettuce and watercress soup is very good.

I'm in uni halls, and the cleaners seem to make a habit of talking at the top of their voices when they come in most mornings.

I'm not sure if that's a British thing, I was brought up told that to keep someone on the doorstep talking is quite offensive (unless of course they've already been in and were on their way out) With neighbours it makes ense because both people can keep tabs on their own households and gossip.

Severe signal failures outside Wolverhampton. Was stuck on a train for an hour last night when all I wanted to do was get home

I do mean people who actually know you, and are still stood outside your front door for a chat instead of being invited in, Honestlago.

Odd, as I said, I'd find that quite offensive. Maybe my rabble were just a lot more happy to open our home than most. I think you're right, it does seem rude.

Wolfden, why don't you just go away*. I know this post will be yikes by you- you're that predictible. But i really am sick to the back teeth of reading and re-reading your purile, childish, ignorant and repetitive crap.

I don't think there's ever been such an irritating character as you on H2g2, and for so longsmiley - grr Sure there've been annoyances in the past, but they usually get bored or banned after a few weeks. Why wont you just take the hint, and post you nonsense somewhere else? Like in a self adressed envelope.

The phrase 'learning curve'. Actually, it's more than a petty hate. I totally cringe when I hear it. Oh yeah, and, 'do you really think I'd...' - which usually means they would.

It's not that we don't get your sense of humour, it's just that we don't find it funny (ironic when you consider post 2915).

Petty hate: that my place of work insists on testing the fire alarms every Wednesday morning between 11 and 12... why can't they do it at night? *We* only need to know the alarms work when there's an actual fire.

Why not set fire to something one Wednesday between 11 and 12, see if they take the hint.
