There is of course the ultimate carbs sandwich ... the breadsauce sandwich ... surprisingly moreish although it does depend to a large extent on the quality of your breadsauce ...

And Bacon and Banana is just sublime

In no particular order: apples, salami, salsa, peanutbutter, bready caviar, mustard, mayo, pez, sour creme, chicken, turkey, baloney etc.

most of you forget most important part of sandwich:

BREAD!

without it you no place to put it all in!

Butter is of course essential, but only acceptable on its own if the bread is really nice.
Bread sauce
Bread sauce + turkey/chicken/goose/whatever you've just had for Christmas dinner, + recurrant jelly (hate cranberry sauce) + stuffing.

We used to have sultana and brown sugar sarnies when we were kids.

Baked beans. Particularly good if you've got a sandwich toaster (aka toastie maker in some parts).

Lemon curd.

Cold meat, cheese, tomato, lettuce, cucumber, cress and Heinz sandwich spread.

By the way, is anyone keeping count?

A bread sandwich is nice. Two slices of bread with a slice of bread in the middle. You can mix brown and white for variation, and apply butter or margarine. If you apply anything else, then it ceases to become a bread sandwich, and becomes simply a triple-decker sandwich. So be careful out there.

I agree with Ekki. Banana and bacon is great especially with a bit of maple syrup.

Prawns with lettuce a little mayo, fresh ground black pepper, and a squeeze of lemon salid sandwich corned beef, fried egg sandwich chorso ham salami Brawn cucumber and strawberries marmalade

Tomoto sauce,
Lamb and mint sauce,
Mini cheddars - though don't do this with margerine - it's horrible,
Toasted pepperami and cheese
chicken burger sandwich with salad and mayonaise
egg and marmite
peanut butter and marmite
corned beef and onion
...and when I was very, VERY, drunk; double decker sandwich with corned beef and salad cream in the bottom (of the sandwich - I wasn't _that_ drunk) and jelly with hundreds and thousands in the top.

Prawns. With a top notch Marie Rose sauce.
Has to be in a really poncey restaurant so it's nice, with fresh lemon juice, crisp iceberg lettuce, the lot. Wait til the snobby waiter turns your way, thensquish the prawns, sauce,lettuce and bread that you get with it all into a big squishy messy ball of a sandwich, pile it in your fat mouth and grin at him.
That's my favourite kind of sandwich.

A Classic: Fish Fingers. 4 Fingers in each sandwich. White bread a must. Tomato sauce. Lots of it.Yum.

Worms. But only for birds.
