Is Harry Potter really that great?

I think the problem is that the plot twists are far easier to spot in the films than in the books...I *still* don't trust dobby despite him becoming more trustable in the fourth book...the doubt about dobby's intentions didn't come accross at all in the film. Plus they showed things that weren't even mentioned in the book (ie malfoy's dad gave ginny her books back in the book - in the film there is a close up of the books before and after he returns them and the diary is fairly obvious) I generally am quite good at guessing who-dun-it but every single HP book has fooled me - even after I picked up on the "its the person you least expect" theme after the second book.
The third book blew me away and the fourth book had me in tears...and I just cant wait to see sirius, and lupin.
One thing - i was disappointed by fudge, minister of magic - far too thin and no pinstripes or bowler hat
