What is the best thing that has happened to you today?

Coming into work to find zero testing for all analysts, and so usually this would be a very boring day. But I have a coursework deadline on Monday, and so I can avoid having to spend a hungover Sunday working by doing the coursework now. Of course Im procrastinating here as usual...

I beat my previous personal best on the cross trainer in the gym this morning
There was no queue in the coffee shop afterwards.
The system I have been toiling over for three months went live this morning

Seeing my four year old son bounce out of bed, having just woken up in a wonderfully happy mood* and throw himself into my arms for a cuddle! Beat that one!
*why is it that kids can wake up happy and adults are just grouchy?

Didn't realise it was a competition
Just realised that I was only supposed to have one best thing. I have to say, out of those three it was probably finding no queue in the coffee shop...

Best thing today?
Talking to my girlfriend long distance (me in Sri Lanka, her in England).
I thought I had lost her but now I know she loves me as much as she ever did.
Bit mushy perhaps, but aren't we all sometimes?!

Finding out they started selling the chocolate mint Girl Guide cookies I love oh so much.
Even if it did take me a batter part of the day to find someone with a kid in Girl Guides. Got 4 boxes. That should hold me over for a few hours.
Thank God they only sell them once a year.
