Thongs and (wo)men?

Ok, so what is the general vote around here? Should men wear thongs? Do they make them sexy? Do women in thongs look more attractive? What is the deal with those tiny pieces of underwear, anyway?

Speaking as a woman, I don't think anybody - male or female - looks sexy in a thong. One company who came out with a bra especially for 'well-endowed' women (Charnos) recently did a 'body' using the same 'system' - Bioform. Unfortunately (as far as I'm concerned) the lower part of the body is a thong, not the normal full covering for the buttocks. I used their 'feedback' tag to email them and ask why they did this, as not all women like thongs. I haven't had an answer yet, and the email was some weeks ago!

I have worn a thong only twice, it was so darned uncomfortable that I haven't worn them since.
Bring on the big knickers! Bridget Jones certainly had that right

It may look good in situations you are horny anyway - but: I'll stick to underwear which is comfortable!

Ugh... as a female, I can honestly say that men should most definately not wear thongs. Especially men with hairy butts. I had a traumatic experience at the beach earlier in the week...
I used to wear thongs with tighter pants, to avoid "panty lines". But gravity has begun to take its toll, and I don't wear pants that tight any more... so no sense in wearing something so darned uncomfortable. I spend enough time pulling panties out of there, why the heck put them in there on purpose?
I will wear thong panties as part of an ensemble if I'm planning on them coming off relatively quickly, though.

Ok, maybe I should not only ask for your opinions, but also give mine. I for one enjoy both seeing and wearing them things. But I seem to be a minority then, at least around here. Maybe I should ask for government support

On his snow white filly
"I'm Thor", he cried
His horse replied,
"You forgot your thadle thilly".

@ PP's poem!
Thongs seem like instruments(clothing?) of torture to me! What is the point of them? I always thought undies were to keep your private bits separate and contained, away from your outer clothes, thus preventing various conditions such as odours and chafing. Thongs seem to be a bit of string between your arse cheeks and a v of material to cover the bits in front (and anyway - women haven't got bits in front).
Men should most definitely not wear them. The hairy arse thing earlier was one reason - the other (for me) is the speedo swimming trunk connection - too much information, and too "in your face"
White cotton boxers (and sometimes briefs, as long as they are not mini briefs) do it for me every time!

Bums can be aesthetically splendid both through clothes and in the flesh but thongs just seem to emphasise the bits of bottoms which just aren't their most attractive feature. Admittedly when you're at that stage when you're entitled to see someone's underwear, you're probably not concerned about how they look IN their pants, more about how they look out of them.
As for that thong appearing from under the waist band look -
Personally I'm a pants type chap - if you're concerned about having a VPL, no pants is the only answer.
Incidentally, I generally gauge how well things are going at parties by the speed at which one gets on to discussing either breast size or underwear preferences ... some might say i was perverted to which I'd have to respond, possibly but it's more likely due to the fact that I'm male and worship the female form.

I like thongs! They look nice on men and women. And they are so much more comfortable than those knickers that cover half your cheeks, then end up gathering between the cheeks anyway. As Jim Royle once said 'I paid a pound for these pants, and I'm wearing 50p of 'em up me arse'.

I would also like to defend the thong...it took a few months to get used to them but I'm proud to say that I now never look like I have four buttocks (just two very large ones).
I threw out all but one pair of big pants two months ago.
