Definitely a likeness - & the cuteness. I wonder if it depends on how happy you are with your own appearance as to how similar a person you go for? Of course, if it's a subtle resemblance it can only be subconcious recognition. I find it interesting to look at families - I know one couple so alike they have been mistaken for siblings & of course all their children are very alike. Then there are other couples & children who are a complete assortment.
I think we are probably reassured by similarities (proof of the genes?) - adopted children are often thought to resemble their parents.
Sorry gone a bit off thread there.

*sighs*
I'm very happy to love somebody who is not similar to me at all... starting with the age (16 years difference, which seems to be accepted when you're a bloke and your girlfriend is much younger, but not the other way 'round).
He's very chaotic - I'm quite straight forward... He's still dying his hair as colourfull as possible - I never did but couldn't do so at the moment due to work... He's living the proper day - I always catch myself at planning everything concerning the next six months...
And probably this is exactly why I love him.

D*MN!! This thread got all heartfelt *clap clap* Liven it up people!
Here's a potentially lethal question...what RACE do you find most attractive? I have to say that I find middle easterners to be gorgeous, what with those dark, riveting eyes and naturally amazing skin tone. Also..I'm fond of Samoans, simply because I'm comvinced me little girl has some traits that popped out of that gene pool, and Nyssababy is the most beautiful creature of the female human persuasion on the planet, it follows naturally...

I'd have to say I'm most attracted to men of the Meditteranean persuasion- give me one of those bronze Greek gods any day!! *drools*
I believe that I prefer women of Scandinavian extraction. I love their bone structure and pale complexions.

I love mediterranean/asian - ie the sort I grew up with, but I appear to have married 3 celts/vikings. It was pointed out to me that they all look very much alike and then I realised they all actually look like my father - so Teasswill could be right.

Isn't he gorgeous?

Wasn't he a cutie? His babies take after him in many ways.
Anyway, yeah, thinking about the race thing, you know who I thought of who is superbly hot? Did you watch the Mummy? That gorgeous guy who's always in black is who I'm thinking of. *purr* I normally don't dig on guys with beards, but yowza!

*thinks Mrs SMs mix is a good combination*
Except for the Lancashire bit - she has a southern accent but has a tendancy to say things like "mush-tea" - in some way this is supposed to represent "Could you be a darling and make me a cup of tea?" Mrs SM, her mother, aunts and grandmother tend to pick and choose between languages - swahili, portuguese and creole - just to annoy me mid-conversation.
Back to looks.
Mrs SM has olive skin, big brown eyes and an athletic frame when she's not nearly 9 months pregnant.

It's a she - and she's still in there. I've been home working for the past couple of days to try and look after Mrs SM, it's taking all my will power not to spend all my time on h2g2, or playing Escape from Monkey Island *faint sound of piratey musak in the background*
>Good luck Mr about to be a daddy monki!<
Liam.
Cripes - the word monkey features too much in my life.

Make the most of playing games and spending time in H2G2.
Once that baby makes an appearance, you wont get a moment to yourself.
Only kidding, they say a new born baby sleeps an average of 16 hours a day. They are just very good at choosing the most inconvenient 8 hours to be awake.
*legs wrapped around my head*
Teasswill Posted Sep 6, 2002
And we all know averages are pretty meaningless, especially if your baby is the one who sleeps considerably less than 16 hours and only in short bursts!
Anyway, all the best Capt. & Mrs SM, the joys of having offspring make up for sleep deprivation.

It's not really Mrs SM - we are living in sin. Shh!
But all the same

Yeah, add my voice to the living in sin party. Marriage - been there, done that, still resetting broken parts *opens chest, gestures at scaffolding around heart*
But babies are grand! *looks at own babies sitting on the couch engrossed in cookie monster, heart melts accordingly*

I can't believe she's four weeks old now! She's getting huge. She's regularly sleeping 4-5 hours at night. Last night she missed out on a feed - sleeping for 7 hours then drank 9 ounces of milk when she got up. The mess a few hours later was quite impressive
Liam.
