If it hasn't died of natural causes by 31st December 2007, it'll likely be murder.
Depends on the points situation, of course.

>"But there has been some dissatisfaction expressed with the fact that four people won this year."<
The reason for my suggestion wasn't due to dissatisfaction of the winners B (there's 3 more days left, that could change), it was more to do with making the game a bit more challenging by not having repeated names.
DD mentioned in post #133 >"14 people picked 86 different names"< that could have been 140 names. They may not all have been 'famous' but would have been well-known enough for their passing to be newsworthy.
I just wanted to explain the reason for my suggestion. At the end of the day, it was just a suggestion, the game's your baby B.

Nobody has won this year 'yet' there are 3 full days and a few hours left and some of the obituaries may not appear for a while into the New Year. Don't forget 3 of us only managed to pull into a tie the 26/27 depending on time zones when our second death of the year occured.

I never had any problem with four people tying first place, and anyway, Saddam could be dropped any minute, so the scores could change as has already been said.
As I scored "nul point" I was joint bottom, along with most others. I don't mind this, it's just a bit of dark humoured fun after all.
My list is ready too. There's no reason why we can't have a thread of lists for those who don't want to take part in a "league" is there?
Two threads:
2007 Deathlist League
and
2007 Deathlist Game.

I too have "nul points", but I like to think I came joint second
I think the game is fine: simple, elegant and easy to understand.
My only problem is I could never remember my list, but that's been addressed.

Given the lack of success of most of us here then I suspect a Deathlist league would not be particularly exciting.
Saddam's probably getting the chop in the next 48 hours meaning he'll probably sneak into the 2006 game.

I've spent the last couple of days doing this A14299851 (yes, GB, I've too much time )
To help advertise the game I've added almost everyone in this thread as a creditor, if you don't want the entry on your PS, or your name on it, simply go to the entry and click 'Remove my name'.
The Jon M - (post 17) have you remembered 'the Saudi ruler who's name escaped me' yet?

Aye!
Fantastic job.
Er, is this a good time to ask if I can have Harry Potter for my under 50 on my list for next year?

Apparantly, they might hang Saddam within hours.
I hear it's not always a quick death.
What's the chances of him doing one decent thing at least and trying to stretch it out for 50hrs?

We used to play this game at work and my mate - Mick - made up a name for the game that I quite like: the lottery of dooooooom.
Can I ask when the new thread will be officially started? I assume it will be January 1st and by MB?

You assume an awful lot, don't you?
It was my understanding that Emmily was taking over, but I'm happy to do it.

if I'm giving that impression B, or is that just a crafty way of getting out of starting it. It's still yuor baby B, I'm just sort of changing the nappy for you.
