Oh, perhaps I should say that I WAS assuming. I wasn't making such assumptions at the time of posting and I can assure you that I am no longer making these assumptions. I'm too busy watching the news to see if I can snatch a late victory. BTW Emmily, your list doesn't show Joseph Barbera as a 'kill'.

Given the state of my New Year's plans (none), I don't think setting all this up on January 1st should be too much of a problem.

Phew! Glad we got that sorted out B, wouldn't want to offend you, you might call me 'dear' again. I'll be patiently waiting, along with everyone else for you to start the thread B
Guru Roghan Josh, Joseph Barbera now showing as deceased.
for the compliments. >"Flebbin' 'eck Em, you *do* have too much time on your hands, want to come to mine and clean my house? "< what do you think I've been avoiding doing Magwitch
I've got a bit of a dilemma. I've used a to signify that someone has died, but am not entirely comfortable with using the for the likes of Pinochet & Hussein, any suggestions - maybe or just stick with the ?

You'll have to decide quick - the headline has just changed from 'Saddam hanged within days' to 'Saddam hanged within hours'.
The rose is my own choice. Thanks for the changes

BTW Emmily I like your style - you help set up the deathlist game but make sure your name wishes everyone a happy new year!

Emmily you have Saddam Hussein "predicted by The_Jon_M" but he's not in his list
Going through everyone's lists, no-one had Saddam.

I thought maybe 'The_Jon_m's number 10 - 'the Saudi ruler who's name escaped me' was meant as Saddam Hussein. I asked if it was in post number 169, partly because using 'the Saudi ruler who's name escaped' was messing up the Table a little on the page, but I solved that by using to break it up, should've thought of that before.
I think SWL (post 189) had the same assumption.
Guess we'll have to wait for The_Jon_m to confirm or deny that was who he meant.
(Men! Tsk, tsk, they just don't understand the need for minor details, such as names. )
Oh, and I've used both the and the

Emmily, you waster, you've got the coding all wrong.
The link to Mu Beta's PS would work were the number preceded by a U.
And the table suggests that four different people gave their predictions in post 1.
And now you're all wondering what I'm doing in this murky part of hootooland. Lurking, of course. As ever.

I don't believe it!!! All (well, nearly all) the coding I did for the lists page was done in Word, error-free. I do a couple of little links and forget to put the U in the link!! D'oh TRiG, sorted now.
>"And the table suggests that four different people gave their predictions in post 1"<
Hmmm, they did, or rather B posted on their behalf, take a look at post number 1
ps forgetting one little U, (twice due to copy & pasting) is hardly getting the 'coding all wrong' ()

You're doing a great job, Emmily, (I hate tables myself)
I thought The_Jon_M might say the number 10 on his list was the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Jaber III al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah, except TJM posted his list on 21 January, 6 days after the Sheikh's demise on 15 January 2006, so he can't have meant him.

I was wondering if he meant Cambodia's former king Norodom Sihanouk:
