2006 Deathlist Game
Mu Beta Started conversation Jan 15, 2006
OK, I tried this on - er - another website, and it didn't take off sufficiently to make it competitive.
The rules are simple. Pick 10 people who you think will die at some point this year (after you post, obviously). One of your list must be under 50. Most points wins.
The four entries so far...
My entry:
1) BB King
2) Michael Foot
3) General Pinochet
4) Stephen Hawking
5) Charlton Heston
6) Paul Gascoigne
7) Prince Philip
8) Gerald Ford
9) Ronnie Biggs
10) Dennis Norden
EV's entry:
1) Pete Doherty
2) Margaret Thatcher
3) Charlie Watts
4) Muhammad Ali
5) Norman Wisdom
6) Jimmy Carter
7) Vera Lynn
8) Gary Glitter (possibly not through natural causes)
9) Tony Curtis
10) Jeremy Clarkson (well, a man can dream...)
Fords' entry:
1. Ariel Sharon
2. Pete Doherty
3. Margaret Thatcher
4. Gary Glitter
5. 50 Cent
6. Humphrey Lyttleton
7. Eric Sykes
8. Charlie Watts (I just have zis feeling, y'know?)
9. Ronnie Biggs
10.Muhammed Ali
DD's entry:
1. Gerald Ford (former US President)
2. Pope Benedict XVI
3. Mohammed Ali
4. Baroness Thatcher
5. Pete Docherty
6. Kate Moss (as I'm not sure which or if both will go in an overdose)
7. Patrick Moore
8. Shimon Peres (he is actually older that Sharon)
9. John Kenneth Galbraith (I was surprised to find one of my Economics pariahs as still alive earlier this week)
10. Barbara Bush (i.e. Wife of George H. W. not daughter of George W.)
Over to you, h2g2 public...

Do you know how wrong this is?
I can't come up with ten, but these are my guesses;
1. Sharon's not getting better, is he?
2. Thatcher (Maggie). Or has she already gone?
3. Random young 'un; One of the princes. Harry.
I personally think that Doherty will hang on against all the odds in an Ozzy Osborne style.
Please note: I don't want ANY of these people to pop their clogs, and ISIHAC will not be the same if Humph decides to shuffle of this mortal coil.

I didn't know BB King was still alive! Pleased he is though.
I'm pondering a list, but then I've been pondering it for a few weeks and haven't got anywhere.

Is Mohammed Ali particularly ill?
Glad to see I'm not the only one who has a sneaking feeling that Benedict won't last long.
