There has been one occasion when I had assumed a researchers gender (from not just name but conversations etc) and found out I was wrong when we met.

Would I be right in thinking that h2 has a bigger proportion of female members than most other general interest sites? (Discounting sites that are aimed specifically at women).

Ashley Posted Jul 12, 2002
Many people often mistake my gender as Ashley can be a boy's or a girl's name. Because of this, I endeavour not to make the same assumptions... but I am only human.

Well, with a completely neutral name like 'Online Again' you have a 50% chance of being wrong (or right).
I got a number of wrong guesses, even with the hint in my Keepers description. But since I've got my picture on my personal space, you need a braille keybord to get it wrong

Tefkat Posted Jul 13, 2002
Well, Online_again, the fact that you like Lego would imply that you're male, but on t'other hand my daughter loved it and I'm always assuming people are male and finding they're female after all - so you're probably female.
Anyone who doesn't know care to hazard a guess at the gender of a tefkat?
