Paying for sex
Mauritania Posted May 9, 2002
Half the people here are not, plus my lass, the girl who wants to talk about prostitution (see Enormous bosoms for more details)

Keep your eyes to yourself.
Everyone here wants to talk about prostitution - that's why we came, isn't it?
Just seem to be having a slow day...
(Is it true that asking a man the time, or for directions, is a code for asking if he wants a bit?)

Don't quote me as an authority-I refer you to one of my first postings in this thread and my inability to spot prostitutes in Soho and King's Cross as proof of my gaucheness in such matters...

Hehehe. The thought of an innocent pro trying to proposition an equally innocent punter is rather wonderful.

Maybe it's the other way around Tefkat... as my stock answer to 'have you got the time?' is 'if you've got the place'.

a girl called Ben Posted May 9, 2002
My ex used to be sweetly innocent about prostitutes. I remember one time we were at Swindon Station, and a bunch of away-day girls were waiting around to get back to Bristol, and he didn't even notice them, bless him.
And another time he was on a business trip, and I had to explain that the nice clean educated girls that had turned up in the evening were escorts rather than the friendly friends of girlfriends of the guys who wanted the deal.
Dunno if he is more cynical now.

Free sex when you order now but hurry! Offer void where prohibited by law or where we don't have things fixed. But you're not going to tell right?

You know they have buy one get one free at the Central station in Newcastle, not that I go there, at night. I'm the girl with the purple shirt if you have seen me in the first episode of Auf Weidistein, pet. Anyway the medical coverage on most of the prostitutes have just expired so now contraception is a must!!!

Personally I would suggest Serbia, but thats my opinion. In reply to the prince, no he wasn't. When I moved here, my family took the train up North (Rickminsworth - Newcastle, what a journey). When me and my family went outside they were filming Barry getting the paper from the Cronicle man. I got in the taxi before he walked into the Station which I missed him by a matter of seconds.
P.S This was my first experiance of Newcastle and one of the best, this was before I met the Grand Admiral and my new home!!!

Well let me suggest something ok? Just sort of a diversion back on the topic ok?
So recently Maureen Dowd of the New York Times wrote a review of Adrien Lyne's film 'Unfaithful' that I've been trying to link here but I can't find it online so I'll just quote some stuff like...
'Lyne's bookend movies [the other's Fatal Attraction in case you don't know -- Editrix] are driven by the same dynamic: men fearing that women will challenge their manhood, topple them from their perch as lord of their cave. When male supremacy and territory are threatened, things get bloody. [maybe you need to add some emphasis to that last sentence -- Editrix again]'
This is kind of what I think Julia Howe had in mind with Mother's Day originally, which was last sunday in case you were hatched from an egg or something. And also why that last sentence in the quote is kind of important ok?
Maureen goes on to quote from Natalie Angier's book 'Woman: An Intimate Geography'...
'In every culture, there is a tendency among both men and women to adjudge women as either chaste or trampy. The chaste ones are accorded esteem. The trampy ones are consigned to the basement, a notch or two below goats.'
I've sort of talked about this before ok? How women are oppressed as much by the esteem in which they're held as by the derision heaped on them if they don't conform to the male standards of chastity... standards that apply only to females not males. Both are sort of two sides of the same coin which is really supposed to divide women so they're more easily conquered.
And this is how it works in war too. In Somalia the US tried to marginalize the biggest warlord in town and got into a whole lotta trouble losing some rangers in the process.
The movie Blackhawk Down tries to rehabilitate the whole incident in the worst tradition of Custer's Last Stand but we really ought to know what's going on here. It's just the same old bilge with Somali warlords taking the places of trampy women. And I guess alotta women buy into the bilge too which is really too bad.
Because the only way I think that women will ever get the yoke of male oppression off their necks is by sticking together... dowagers and sluts alike... otherwise the boys will continue to make a mess of a man's world and women will continue to have to cleanup the mess and pay the price in many other ways.
And whether the boys pay for the sex or just take it like those bullies in Sierra Leone, it's going to hurt.
