I wish I had learnt how to make friends, cause now I don't got any

I wish I had learnt/studied english, media and history, cause I never wanted to be a scientist. I wanted to do those subjects for my o-levels and still do. But my parents wanted me to be a scientist and that was difficult to brake from.

But I don't get why agcB wants to learn another language so much. I'd much rather learn to play an instrument.

I wish I'd taken up Archery sooner. I wanted to try it for years, but never got round to it until I came to Uni. Now 12year old children come along and slaughter my score, because they've been shooting for longer than me.

I also thought about starting that. Maybe it is already too late. I did it for a while several years ago but stopped again.
I should have done sports when I was little. I've never really liked it but would probably have done wonders for my social life.

I wish I had learnt that it doesn't always pay to hide your feelings from people, a lesson I'm still having problems learning.

I wish I had learned that I *could* have got a better job a lot earlier than I did, a few years ago. I was stuck in a job with an MD with no people skills, and had basically come to believe, because of constant criticism, that I could never get a better job anywhere else.
Having said that, if I hadn't changed jobs when I did, The job with TDV might not have been available, I might not have spent the previous two years learning all the skills they wanted, and as a consequence, I might never have created h2g2.
That doesn't mean that h2g2 would never have been created, but I suspect it would have been a whole lot different.

The mind boggles. I genuflect in your direction.
I wish I had ignored everyone when I was seventeen and written the novel I had to wait until I was thirty-seven to write.
Nothing really changed. I always thought they were wrong, but it took that long before I was sure I was right.
I wish I had found a mentor.

That no matter how sincere, misjudged or unheard you are, a big powerful corporation will always have the last word... and you will stand accused and convicted without ever knowing your crime or being allowed to defend yourself.

I wish I had learnt to pronounce the words I read. I learnt to read very early, and read a hell of a lot (still do!), but I didn't know how to pronounce words I'd read (or understand the phonetic spelling in the dictionary); plus the primary school I went to wasn't the place to let people know that you read for pleasure. Anyway, when I went to my poncy secondary school where most of the girls had been to private prep schools, I looked a right bloody fool.
I also wish I 'd learnt that there are people who have far lower standards than I have, in every area of life.

Hmm.
I wish I'd learned to juggle earlier.
That way I could be better at it than I already am
Other'n that... hmm... yes, I was a very shy child, it might've been good if I'd gotten past that earlier on.
Then again, who knows, maybe I wouldn't be such a computer geek if I'd gone out and been sociable
And who wants that?

I wish I would learn to trust my ability to read form, then I wouldn't have had such a shocking day at the races last Wednesday.
(My boyfriend on the other hand has learnt quickly to back the horse I think of first. He had a very good day at the races.)
