it always amazes me that some men find it impossible to understand that some women can be afraid of commitment. yet it is perfectly acceptable for a male to be afraid of it.

example. if a bloke brings around flowers when the woman is still making up her mind about the relationship, this can be very scary.

it's just like when a woman tells a bloke she loves him and he runs scared. this seems acceptable behaviour to most men.

there are women who love presents and rose and others that find the scary, as they may mean more than they first seem.

i hope this makes sense it's a hard concept to put down in short sentences.

Are you scared? Did you ever manage to get past that point? smiley - smiley

scared? definitly. can't say why, but i get terrible panic attacks. luckily i'm single at the moment so everything is fine. it does get highly annoying when i do meet a nice guy and then panic though. i'd like to get over it, thats for sure.

Always remember: Especially if he's a nice guy, he's probably scared as well.

Long Distance Relationship, or could be Love's Determined Reach, Long Durable Romance, Like Deers Rutting, Luridly Descriptive Rumpy-pumpy, or Life's Delirious Ride... Liquid Digital Readout, Low Density Reasoning... Last Ditch Run, Limited Disk Room, Light Digestible Raisins, Limp Dead Rodent, Long Deteriorating Ramble, Less Definitions, Really, List Dying Rapidly. Lies Dead, Ruined.

Love Does Remain. Ahhhh.

Spontaneity! Flowers are great! Do things whenever you think of your girl/guy and smile, just cuz you wanna, there doesn't have to be a reason!

Remember little things that they like.... one of my best Christmas presents ever was a book of poetry, because it was completely unexpected as I don't mention my interest in it often, folk usually get me "wacky" stuff, which is great! But this chap had remembered something from a conversation we'd had months ago! It brought tears to my eyes when I opened it!

Yes, do tell... LDR? Presently I'm being driven crazy by a male - no, it isn't like that, he's a kid - but that's a whole 'nother thread.. I want to find the perfect male, so's I can drive *him* crazy.. He's educated, he writes poetry (or at least reads it) he loves science fiction, he's into music, he's senstive, is as left-wing as anyone is these days - oh, and did I say, he looks like Rutger Hauer? Just kidding about the last bit, I am not that superficial.. Or *am* I?smiley - fairy

the autist formerly known as flinch

I always used to buy my partner flowers, three reasons: She likes flowers; i like to make her happy; and i love her and want her to know i'm aware of how much. So i'd buy flowers for her, pretty much whenever i saw some really nice flowers, say every ten days or so. After a year she had a complete distain for any flowers i gave her (don't get me wrong i'd give her other gifts too - i think an awful lot of this woman), and would just leave them where i gave her them, not put them in water or anything. It really gutted me and i took it quite personally for a long time. I still buy her flowers now and then. Usually when we are going out together somewhere nice for the day - i love to see her carrying flowers, she looks wonderful - sometimes to cheer her up. But i always feel nervous about giving them now.

"Does my bum look big in this"
"Your bum looks bloody gorgoeus both in and out of it"
"You think it looks fat then..."
You can argue with that logic!

Well, it's the same about flowers with me. I don't buy them any more. Since then everything improved. smiley - smiley
