Rock n' Roll is indeed a synonym for sex, but there are others in the same mould. A lot of blues songs are about sex. For example, there's one that goes 'My baby loves shortenin' bread', which is about sex. And Robert Johnson (the famous bluesman who sold his soul to the devil at the crossroads) had a song that goes 'You can squeeze my lemon baby, 'til the juice runs down my leg'.

(I'm sure Led Zeppelin adapted that one in 'The Lemon Song)

My ex - who is fond of dosh, but has his prudish moments - used to love the song "Shake your money maker" until I pointed out exactly which part of a gal's anatomy her money maker would be.

Old folk songs have some rather spiffing terms, "hunting the bonny black hare (hair?)" is one of them also there allusions to the act (I believe) such as when young maidens go "nutting down in Kent"

One rather splendid song refers to the "taking" of a young woman's "maidenhead". Then because she was not dreadfully bright, having been scolded by her mother for losing it she went and asked for it back. The gentlemen involved "put her head where her feet were before and gave it back again".

If I had had the forsight I would have been born in Kent. A really happening place.

PS. Of course I have never actually heard these songs. My father told me about them. I'm well hard, into leather, motorbikes and Rock and Roll.

So the Disney movie where a mother sings the song about Shortenin Bread to her baby should actually have been censored?
