I think it takes a bit more than being good at English to impress somebody. Especially since she speaks it perfectly as an Australian. But I had lunch with her yesterday, and I made her laugh. So success so far

I guess the difference is if you love somebody because of who they are or in spite of who they are. The first one will probably last the longest.

Indeed, if one of those factors is high it will push the others down. Two out of three is the best we can reasonably expect. Finding all three at once in the same person takes a stroke of luck.

Another lunch with the Oz girl, and the food was even good this time. I think I'm starting to get a bit of confidence in my sense of humour again.

I figured I'd better move the conversation here instead of no sex = sadness. So how do you go about flirting?

Basically, flirting is pretending to have a decent conversation while you're really thinking impure thoughts, and you both know it.

And it's twice as much fun on the phone, when you're not hampered by knowing what the other one looks like (that would reduce the number of potential flirting partners by about 80%)

Humour, quickwittedness if possible, caring about the other person and listening to what they say and taking them up on it. If possible, later on in the conversation, too, to assure them that you haven't forgotten.

look into their eyes ,laugh at their jokes , and make them think they are the only person in the room....go on Xantic you can do it

you have to give out in body language by looking at them when they speak and leaning forward etc. that you are interested..And above all listen and look interested when they speak...you can do it Xanatic..it just takes practice...if you give out" I'm desperate" body language it frightens people away.

Flirting? Flirting is fun, but I cannot define it any better than that. For me there is a big undercurrent of unexpressed laughter with flirting.

But I am funny about laughter anyway.
