Just the one. I did create another one as a joke, but it wasn't particularly funny, so I trashed it.
I barely have enough time for *one* persona...
I do have multiples at other BBSes, though...

two - one I use - one I created by accident and probably ought to delete. Except, the whole thing got so confused when I created it, that I'm scared I'll end up deleting the one I actually use too!
I'm not fond of the idea of creating a seperate user ID just to say mean things. Sounds too much like trying to create a good reputation by stealth. Or wanting to keep a good reputation, but not being willing to pay the price in terms of having to keep a civil tongue in your head. there are plenty good reasons for multiple IDs - but I can't see that being one of them. I'm almost tempted to use the word 'Cowardly'...
I'm probably reading *far* too much in jwf's and GB's comment, though

Please, Lucy, feel free to use the word 'cowardly'.
You are right of course, hiding an evil or selfish purpose behind a mask would definitely be cowardly even if playing only one role.
But do consider that in the great tradition of 'theatre', actors not only wear masks, they often play more than one character.
Ultimately, it is not the method but the intention behind it which must be questioned. I kinda like to think of multiple personalities as doing god's work 'in mysterious ways'. As Zaphod has shown us, two heads, even on the same body, are better than one.

Hugo is a perfect example of the point I was trying to make. It is not the fact of more than one ID but how that ID is intended and engaged.

Wayfarer-- I only wish I were crackly Posted Jun 17, 2001
two, now.. finally got around to creating this one for use at home, and it does seem to load faster. i wonder if anyone else has two for the same reason as me? one with all the actual stuff on the page, and one for faster loading.

Ottox Posted Jun 17, 2001
No, not necessary since I always use my "More conversations" page instead of my "space".
But some of my IDs are for practical reasons. As an Ace and Guru, I like to know what a not yet activated page tells the owner, so I have an ID only for that. I've also got a new ID to keep track of my conversations as the Guardian Angels Herald, and I've got an ID for the h2g2 Choral Society.
I *haven't* got any IDs to "cheat" anyone or to say things I wouldn't say as Ottox!!!

Duplicity! Triplicity! Quadruplicity!
Will it never end?
What ever happened to simplicity?
GW by name
GW by nature
ps: Yes, once, just once I logged on as someone else, but I got ignored and I felt silly.

As a subscriber to both this and the 'multiple personalities' thread (no it's not called that, it came off topic) it's getting increasingly difficult to know whowho is kidding whowho.
And so say all of us.

I have two; one to just play, and one to do research. Unfortunately, I spend so much time playing, I never get the research done.
I'm too open for my own good. There isn't anything I don't feel comfortable saying in my own name.Ask my family, they've had to bear with my bad habits for over 4 decades. They must have spent a fortune in asprin alone.

Aspirin? That's in Colorado isn't it? Yes, a very expensive place to be!
