Thanks RF for Baudy's info - have glanced at & logged the w/site - this author seems to be on the verge of being a philosopher!

Shirps, if I remember correctly (from a bookjacket blurb) Umberto Eco is a professor of philosophy (or a lecturer) at the university of Florence.
I'm rereading the 5th Harry Potter.
Can anyone tell me why one of the wards at St Mungo's hospital is the Dai Llewelwyn ward?

You need to have read Quidditch Through The Ages. 'Dangerous' Dai Llewellyn was a Caerphilly Catapults player who was eaten by a chimera on holiday.

I've got Quidditch Through the Ages somewhere. Must dig it out.
Anyhow, I've just finished another magicky kids book: Artemis Fowl - The Arctic Incident by Eoin Colfer, which tells the story of the Goblin Rebellion and the end of young Artemis's search for his father, as hinted in the first book. Again Colfer mixes the two underworlds (organised crime and the Lower Elements where the fairies live) in his fun way and throws in a few bad puns as well.
Prior to that I read Larpers and Shroomers - The Language Report by Susie Dent (of Countdown fame. Mmmmm Susie...). It's a very readable survey of current linguistic trends. The cover deliberately echoes Eats, Shoots and Leaves, but the inside completely avoids any preachy tone - Dent reports what people are saying rather than censuring them, whether the person in question be Tony Blair or Vicky Pollard. I wanted to pick out a favourite entry, but I'm having trouble; if I don't stop myself I'll be listing everything from "hoser" to "prawn-sandwich man". A friend of mine was especially keen on "council house facelift" which means pulling your hair into a bun so tight it smooths out the wrinkles in your face.

Yes, but in my opinion the quidditch at the beginning of the 4th book was a bit boring, the 5th was the best one so far.

I think I've got to read it again before July, and the 5th one too. Cant start with the first, there are too many other things I've got to read (and I've got some other things to do too).

So will there be another one in July ? It's so long ago that I've read the fifth, I can hardly recall the title.
