Anyone ever read the "Da Vinci Code" by Dan Brown? That one has got to be in my "Top 5 Books I've Ever Read" list, and the best mystery novel in the history of the Milky Way!
Thrilling, enthralling stuff, especially if you're interested in History.

I've read _Angels & Demons_ by Dan Brown, but I haven't read _The Da Vinci Code_ yet. My guess is that if you liked _The Da Vinci Code_ you will like _Angels & Demons_ as well.

I haven't read "Angels and Demons" yet, but I really want to. I have read Digital Fortress, though, which is also by Dan Brown, but it doesn't follow the exploits of Robert Langdon - instead another two-part crypt breaking team/mystery solvers/adventurers. I have to admit I didn't like it as much as the Da Vinci Code, but it was a good read in any case.
Everybody who has not read the Da Vinci Code, I advise you to do so. (You don't have to, but you're missing out).
Thank you.

Just started reading 'Knees up Mother Earth' by Robert Rankin, because it's a tradition or an old charter or a something.

Anybody read "Finding Cassie Crazy?"
I don't know if it's got much of a following outside Australia, and I guess it's more a "teenage girl's" book, and although I'm a teenage girl I'm not exactly a stereotypical fashion/shopping junkie. But I quite enjoyed it, anyway.

Now reading "The Closing of the Western Mind: The Rise of Faith and the Fall of Reason" by Charles Freeman, which is not as you might think about George Bush and the U.S. Christian right but about the early Christian church

Ged, did you get that from Amazon? Have they sent the books out before the official date?
Oh well at least I'll know that I bought my book at the actual book launch and get it signed by the Man Himself.

Aye, I am. It's only my second book launch [and second Rankin convention], I made it to the Bunnies launch shortly after discovering Rankin, but missed both the Large event in Derby and the Witches launch due to lack of funds, but made it to Ireland for They Came and Shaved Us last October, an event that wasn't to be missed.
I guess the Official launch is at the end of the week for convenience.

Just started Pratchett's Hatfull of Sky. Yes I know it's a kids book but he's brilliant whether writing for kids or adults.
Hoping that Knees Up Mother Earth will be available as an airport edition when I fly off to the sun next week - I always resent paying so much for hardbacks that I'll read once or maybe twice. Paperbacks are lighter in the suitacse, too.
Has anyone seen the most recent Neal Stephensons in paperback yet? Quicksilver and its sequel, title of which I can't summon up just at the moment...
And isn't it time that Iain (M) Banks stopped "researching" books on whisky and got another proper book out?

I have really begun to like my iPaq with MS Reader software. I can have several books with me and they fit in my pocket.

I've decided that an iPaq will be one of my first purchases once I'm reliably employed again, so here's a string of nosy questions for you, Barry:
Is the MS Reader available on all models, is it easy to see/read in most light and what kind of books are you able to get for it? Are most books now released as eBooks?
I just went away for the weekend, and half my luggage was in the form of three books, which weighed a TON.

Roberts hardbacks are only £9.99 and I hear Sussex Stationers are selling them at paperback prices...
