Damn! Why am I always late for dinner...
So at the end of the first round, we've had some really brilliant and funny entries, but for sheer elegance I think were looking at having to break a three way tie:
Braising Amy
Last Mango In Paris
Lunchpack of Notre Dame
'pass'

I gave it my best shot but I'm in for Braising Amy (although I'm slightly diasappointed that The Italian Cob didn't make it into the top three).

Awgee, Red, you had so many good ones. Raiders of the Roast Lark deserves a special category award. But so does War and Pizza.
Forgive me suggesting that any were 'better' than others. Those three gave me 'RLLOL' and I just had to comment. Mum always said "If y'cant say anything nice don't say nought." and I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the whole idea and 'most' of the entries, I didn't mean to wet blanket the conversation...
May I suggest these all be gathered together for an entry called the
"Hitchhikers Guide to the Galley"
Let's get some more entries:
Stir Trek
Three Men and a Buttie
Moby Duck

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
