Today was one of my teaching days at the College so I took my mobile phone in and put it in a dessicator with silica gel. I'm next due in on Friday, so I'll see if it's started w*rking again. If not I'll just give it up as a bad job and get a new one.

2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side... Posted Jun 8, 2011
got a TEXT today, just after Wiliam and I had been... doing stuff for a while... to say my mobile was back into the mobile phone shop after they'd sent it off to install the software on it So we walked up to pick it up from the shop Got the man in the shop to show me where they'd hidden the on off button and how to get inside the damn thing to move batterys in and out and reach the sym card slot
It was a nice afternoon so we walked back via mine (as it was on the way), and dropped off the bag I had the old phone and new phone box in and wondered up to a pub... only it were closed so we wondered back towards mine, and went to the blue instead, which is probably a better pub anyhow Sat out in the beer garden and I had a couple pints of mild and we chattered until William had to go catch the bus home
Oh and we had a good chat earlier when he first came round mine, on matters of a sensiblenature and, we got some time together
Then this evening I spent with my new mobile. First off uninstalled 20 plus pieces of utter rubbish they'd installed o the phone to improve its functioning no doubt then I attmepted the tedious task of moving calender and contacts from the old phone
I knew I could do it via bluttoothing the contact over as bisuness cards, but that takes ages and ages and ages..
So I tried instead setting up a outlook profile of a faulse nature with no real Email account associated, and copying the contacts from the old phone to that...
Only, of course, that only copied those contact for which there was an Email address
Oh, the first thing I had tried involved two differnt methods of syncing the phones using bluetooth and built in software... only neither seemed to be compatible between the two phones (despite being the same make )
Eventually found an update, which I installed on the older phone....
This then allowed the software on the new phone, only one of the two versions of the software mind, to function, and allowed to directly bluetooth the calender and contacts from old to the new
Still can't quite work out the layout schema on the desktop on the new phone... it doesn't seem to want to display the apps I want it to display
Tommorrow I can fill up the 4 GB free memory on the SD card the new phone came with, with mp3s, and also find some ring tones which don't make me want to shout abuse at the phone... (the new ones on the new phone are seriously terrible... moreso than the default tones on the old phone) Though, finally they've included a couple that actually* sound like a phone ring
Oh, and I set up my Email on the phone... somehow that seemed the easiest bit to do
Also tommorrow I'll hunt down a decent free open source file manager/explorer type thinggy to use on it; then I can I think get at all the default ring tones I'll never want to use and just delete them and free up more of the harddrive plus I need to see if the twitter app I used on the last phone is compatible with the new phone as its the easiest twitter client I've found for a phone hmmm.... now if only they'd given me a bluddy manual with the new phone I could easily just see if it was the same'series' of the OS as which I know does work with that twitter client
err... then what did I do... hmmm... just just now I put the new phone on charge, as the battery were dead already (well bluetooth was on all day virtually), then I put the old mobile on charge too as that is nearly flat (need to un-2legs the phone so I can give it to a friend who really needs one with the software I've got on that, but doesn't have the money to buy that software, so they might as well have it as I won't need it now ...) but, need to ensure I've removed any banking credit card, Email, contact, CAlender, notes, word docs, incriminating photos, etc., etc., off of it before I let it out of my grip
Oh and after that I looked at a pile of stuff next to the PC. and just said 'flirbling glimberenstalls....) and picked the lot up and threw it in the bin... I'm pretty* sure there was nothing of any use or value therein... I hope... hmmm... err where'd my wallet and keys go, and my two external ex-internal 500 GB hds? ... bugger... to the bin..

No Supply teaching w*rk again today - for the 3rd time this week (Yrs 11, 12 and 13 are all on Study Leave or taking exams). Hence had time to make myself filter for 'elevenses'. Discovered that I handed cleaned out the filter machine from the last time so it had mouldy in it
(I would have used here, but this had led Mal to the erroneus impression that I'm always angry with life, so I used instead).

me too BigAl - you have that red faced smiley for personal use. Mouldy coffee
WJH: Went to the town hall again. This time it was to sign a paper confirming another piece of paper that they saw about a month ago. I would elaborate but you would all die of boredom

WJH?: just got reminded (thanks), that my coffee machine is now probably mouldy too as I forgot to wash it up since... err some time ago
Oo! no please! please do elaborate, it sounds fascinatingly intersting!
Oh, and before that sudden realisation I got a TXT before which I had lunch, beforewhich I finally*got rid of the stupid 'share online' link on the desktop of my new phone before which I changed virtually every setting on the phone, found a bunch more stuff to delete, and generally thought I'm beginning to get to grips with it, and discovered its far better on teh web than the old phone was awww... will it be like this with my mind like mush forever?

I'm loosing now, on the geek stakes... I can't find the bluddy USB port on my phone! it must be there somewhere... It even came with a tiny short USB cable... I have, however, 'aged' teh case thanks to scratching it all over trying to find the USB port... Ooo! Ny phone just made a noise... think I've a TXT (main reason for finding the USB connection is so I can put some decent message alert tones on it...)

I really find it quite hard to tell the two apart these days what is decent to start with may quickly move into that which is not

I like
The day didn't start too well - I had to go the the doctor's for a appointment, so I didn't get to have breakfast, and they let a new nurse on me who wasn't too good at taking blood. It would've been easier if her hands hadn't been shaking, but she'd quite literally just started working there five minutes earlier and had the senior nurse breathing down her neck.
At least I got quite a generous tip later - twice what I was actually paid for that tour, anyway. And now I've found internet access.

Deja vu with that nurse Mal...
I had a weird day at work. It's been a stressful workplace for some time because of a lot of things going on, but today I saw someone losing it completely.
See...he's a guy who believes he belongs to a social milieu which hasn't actually existed since around 1799. And, well, he thinks everyone should treat him like that. So when I treat him as a mere *equal* he gets dreadfully insulted.
Anyway today he asked me something. I think I forgot to bow, or whatever it may have been. But he went into a tirade for 15 minutes, red, shaking, and sweating. So the more he went on, the harder I found it not to laugh.
Anyway, he reached the high point when he roared "WITHOUT FAMILIES LIKE MINE, YOU WOULDN'T HAVE THE POETRY OF WILLIAM BUTLER YEATS TO READ!"
Holy carp. He waited until I was drinking to give us that gem, and then *I* lost it. Coffee everywhere, tears of laughter stinging my eyes, I just had to run out of there and go for a smoke to calm down.
I'm not even sure I want to leave any more. It just gets better and better around there.

The worse blood taking experiences I ever had were from doctors... they don't get to do it enough The best, was either from the radiologists nurse person (that was an injection though), or from what was basically a blood clinic, all the nurses there did, each day every day, was take blood from patients needing to have blood tests of all kinds done
WJH?: dinner, chicken ceaser salad, but spicier and, what just just happened is that I pretty much made up my mind to go grab an icecream/choc-ice from the freezer

aAlways remember that at a place I used to w*rk, because of the nature of the w*rk, we all add to have medical examinatuions every year, including blood tests. This was done after lunch and the Medical Officer was famous for enjoying as wee tipple at lunchtime and always came back rather refreshed. He literally used to throw the hyperdermic at your arm like a dart at a dartboard . I much preferred the nusing sister taking my blood. She was prettier , had nice cool hands , and you didn't even feel the needle go in. Also used to enjoy having my thyroid tested for radioactivity. Had to lie on the couch, the sister used to have to gain access to the neck area... - those lovely cool hands again ...

Sounds like the today could be his daughter - I asked her to take a look at my knee while I was there (it's gone all where I lost a lot of skin in an incident involving a bicycle and the law of inertia on Monday) and she literally slapped the dressing on.

I just got notified that I am getting a pension, which was a surprise to me as I thought it was closed when I got divorced, way back in 1999?
Yet, it must be true, as before I even get the first payment, I get a letter from the Tax man wanting his share of it?
Smudger.

The flatmate's friend came over and they seem to be intent on drinking a whole bottle of whiskey between them while trying to write a song I've run away to the conference room.
