I know, I used to work shifts and sometimes in a moment of madness agree to do a double shift, then when my proper home time came I felt sick as a parrot. Never mind at least you don't start til later.

A lot of workers were around earlier working on some new gas lines. The work they're doing is evedent, but they don't seem to be around right now.
More fireworks going off right now.

weird Italian across the way still hasn't figured out that frosted glass+light=shilouette....
Otherwise, there are a few ambulances going by (there always are, I'm two blocks from the hospital) and a tire squealed somewhere in the distance.

Relax, the fireworks are some distance away. I don't think we'll have a huge explosion here.
The ghost is just for Halloween.

The liquidamber tree foliage is turning brilliant gold as the Japanese maples turn a deeper coppery orange in the background. The pool cleaning man is checking the pool filter and trying not to seem too curious about the drying effigy of an American president lying face-down on my lawn. Which is good because I'm not too eager to explain it anyway.
