The badgers just came back in after roudning up the lemmings, I really should try to keep a better control on those onions, they get me into such trubble.... A man just walked down the street with a encharnting little kangeroo on a leash...

To blokes are sitting on the grassy bank sharing a flagon of cider.Their offspring are throwing whatever is to hand at the chestnut tree to get conkers. One bright spark has just thrown a piece of stone from the wall,What goes up must come down, and it has, catching one of the men on the head. There is much cuffing of earholes and crying

The plastic lines on the rotary clothes dryer are quivering slightly in the early evening Middlesex breeze, as the birds gently cough themselves to sleep...

The Japanese maples are all ablaze in autumn colour under a hazily veiled faded blue denim sky.

I think someone just knocked at my door... I didn't answer it... I don't know anyone who's daft enough not to ring my doorbell and if it isn't anyone I know then its probably somone looking for nextdoor nothing happening here outside either....

I looked out of the front hall window and saw my neighbour across the street cupping his hands around his mouth while loudly calling out, "Tito!!!...Tito, muchacho...ven aqui... ay-Tiiiiiiitooooooooooo!".
Which would be a fairly normal afternoon occurrence in this neighbourhood. But I happen to know that Tito is a pet iguana.

Yeah!
I've been ordered to check under my Jeep, because my neighbour seems to think Tito is seeking out warm spots to hide out in.

I just heard a couple of car doors slamming (I'm still sitting in the windowless void room), after the doors slammed a woman shouted something and then a man shouted something then another car door slammed, and then something glass shattered on the pavement, and a car drove up the road, then some other people shouted at each other a while in a language I didn't reconize

Probably, if he's an iguana. Don't have a neighbourhood dog who'd like to find him?

The owner is afraid the dogs in this neighbourhood will be too rough on Tito. We've got playful labradors and a setters living on this block who like to pick fights with raccoons and coyotes for fun! They'd love to nibble on a lizard, if they could, I'm sure.

Tito has been found!!!
He slipped under the backyard garden gate and we caught him by the pool diving board with the pool net. Poor Tito. He seemed to be having a fine time with the last of the season's dragonflies...pity we had to unceremoniously bung him into a pillowcase and then haul him home.*shrugs*
Extricating a pet snake from a gopher hole couldn't have been much fun!

Poor Tito - for catching him. Are you sure it was the right lizard?
Luckily, he was very long, so we managed to grab the end before he completely disappeared

I'd hate to think that there were more 3 footlong lizards out there answering to commands in Spanish !
You were very lucky, that time! Gopher holes can be very long and deep.
Repairmen fixing a sinkhole near here found a network of gopher holes with snake and mouse carcasses in the tunnels more than 8 feet below the ground surface!

A flock of pie-eyed KiTKiTKiTKiT birds just flew over down the street then double backed up the road and landed on top of the flirbling lampposts... The swamp creatures obviously didn't like this as they bgan guncheeing very loudly and throwing coconuts at the bases of the lampposts... the lampposts have just started walkeing up the raod to get away from the swamp creatures and that made the KiTKiTKiTKiT birds fly off
