*Amelia looks up*

Amelia: Nine bells, is it?

*She ywans. She hasn't noticed until just not how tired she really is. (Internal monolouge)"I /really/ should have brought along those caffeine pills."*

Amelia: And that would make it what time exactly?

[ooc] that is a good question..... i'm not doing so hot on telling time......

Nine bells aught to be pretty soon, I guess. I'll leave it to the Captain to announce 9 bells in the announcements thread.

*shrugs* Kay. So are we just hanging about here until he does that, then?

Goodschad has left, so you could continue your conversation (with double posts). The Captain is busy for the weekend, so you have at least that much time.

[occ] where were we?

We were speaking, and you threatened to throw me into the brig, but then you said you were intrigued with me, so you'd keep me about. Sound familliar?

*Richardson turns back to Amelia. He smiles slightly and removes a small device and looks at the display. Satisfied he puts it back into his pocket and walks away from the door.*

[Richardson] We are quite alone again, where were me my dear? ah yes.... why have you chosen to come to this obscure time frame? granted it has little chance of contamination, but that would make this more than a test run as there is nothing of significance here..... unless i have missed something?

*Richardson settle into the chair accross from Amelia.*

What purpose does double posting serve, anyway??? I don't get it! Oh, btw, you have a desk, in here right? Gods I hope so.

Amelia: *raises an eyebrow* Okay, Sparky, we can be friends, but I never said anything about going any further than that. So this "my dear" stuff?

*She shudders ever so slightly. Internal monolouge: "This Richardson had a real apprasing eye, the creep. Still, he is kinda cute. *mental shrugs* he could be kinda fun."*

And consequently, Sydney has temporarilly lost her ability to type. My appologies in advance for the typos that will inevitably ensue.

Amelia: ...The "my dear" stuff has to stop. Okay, Sparky? But anyway. I'm not telling you a spooned thing until you tell me about /you./ Mmm kay?

*She hops up onto his desk and sits cross-legged*

Here's the reason for the double post. When someone barges into a conversation, they are allowed to read the last post. If you are one of the people in that conversation and you want to keep you post secret, then you don't want it to be the last post in the thread, because anyone can enter the conversation thread and read it. So, you post your secret-filled post, then post again right after it with something innocuous. Then if anyone comes into the thread, they only read your innocuous post.

Oh! *smacks herself in the forehead* That makes so much sense! Gods! I'm a geek... Meh. Sorry.

*Richardson looks mildly amused.*

[Richardson] Then we really have nothing further to discuss.

*Richardson escorts Amelia to the door and then heads in the other direction, towards the cargo hold.*

*pUlls her arm back from him*

Amelia: Hold on there a minute, Sparky. I don't...

*She rolls her eyes and shrugs*

Amelia: *shouts after him* I'll just be going to the... *her voice grows quieter as she realises he doesn't appear to be listening anyway* The Deck... *sighs* /Males/...!

*Amelia walks to the door, waiting patiently for Sparky to open it.*

*Lets Amelia into cabin, turns up a lamp on his small table, then locks the door.* So, why the concern for secrecy? Surely you trust me? You know my transmitter is not a recording device. The only one I have is my scanner, and it only records physiological data. *takes out scanner,sets it on table. all the lights on it are dark* I don't think anyone outside this room cares how fast your heart is beating at this moment.
You know you can trust me. The worst thing I could do right now is jump you, steal the power from your recall device and whatever you have in your pocket, charge up my transmitter, call my shuttle and leave. There are two problems with this. One, if you are feeling kindly instead of shooting me you'll merely bust my head. And two, where would I go? If I return home alone I'll be vaporized, grand theft starship is a capital ofense on Tau Ceti. *takes out tubular device and sets it next to scanner* And now you are the only one in this room who is armed. If you don't trust me now you never will.

*hears 'All Hands' and turns pale. He locks eyes with Amelia* I...I...by my soul I don't want to run out on you again...

*graps the tubular device and dashes for the deck*
