Captain Pingu of the USS Penguin
I want to join the Thingites!!
Aximili Posted Mar 19, 2007
Greetings, Captain Pingu, from a fellow Starfleet Captain. In my case a Galaxy class starship by the name of USS Derringer.
Myself and Boris here are in our official capacity as welcomers to new Thingites, so welcome. Pull up a chair, have some
and
while we wait for Clive to come along and give you the official welcome.

Yes I was busy coming down with a cold *sniff* *cough* *whimper*
tho on do bithess den!
Captain Pingu of the USS Penguin - (always nice to see another high ranking military offical join The Campaign, I don't think we have a rear admiral yet, but give it time....) - hereby proclaim'ed!
*bangs gabble*
Here is they Holy Regulation Titanium Spork - useful as a makeshift rudder if things get y'know submerged and your fleet is reduced to the emergency dinghy.
You'll find the rest of the motley crew needs whipping into shape over in the No, No, No
thread.
Now Avast! etc; Get those hatches battened; the Missen Mast hoisted and I'll see you on deck.
Arr.
Clive.

*To Pingu* Did you understand any of that? Did Talk like a Pirate Day come and me not know?
Aww, is our mighty Warlord suffering from a nasty bug, den?
:Cheesecake will heal what ails you.
Cheesecake, cheesecake, that's your answer to everything.
I want to join the Thingites!!
Menthol Penguin - Currently revising/editing my book Posted Mar 20, 2007
Ahh you see The USS Penguin will never sink underwater as it is a spaceship.
I can think of a few uses for that regular Titanium spork, if my warp drive all but fails and I am left only with a Titanium spork I can use it as a space dinghy. Unfortunately I will probably die of suffocation.
At the minute I have no crew. It's just me all on my little lonesome.
So if anyone wants to apply to be a slave err I mean crewmember feel free! there is always a gift of either
or
or
.

Greetings, Aximili - Feeder of Boris, the Cheesecake-eating Spider.
Surely eating just cheesecake is bad for Boris, he'll get a little spider stomach and be fat. Your 5-a-day is good for you. Or is that just for humans? Perhaps for spiders it's 5 flies a day.

I haven't heard of "Talk Like a Pirate Day" so it's not just you that's out of the loop. The mighty Warlord must have passed his cold onto me as I feel ill (big cry of sympathy please)and there's no cheesecake. Can Boris send me some?
As for the message i understood most of it (i think)

Hmm, what do you think, Boris? Can you spare some of your precious cheesecake?
: Pingu seems nice, so yes, I will.
Hey, pingu, ctach Enjoy!
Oh, and in answer to your question, Boris burns off any fat from the cheesecake hunting the flies that suppliment his diet. He's a busy little spider.

Great news So you're a trekkie huh? Or do you prefer Trekker? Whichever, there are definitely some places around here you need to check out.

*gets ready to start a huge debate*
So who was better, Kirk, or Picard?
*sits back and waits*

Aximili Posted Mar 21, 2007
Hmm, I rather liked Kirk's rough-and-tumble style of command, but personally, I tend to agree with Picard's diplomacy in situations. So I'm not going to take the bait. I'll just say that they both have their merits.
*Waits to be lynched by a bunch of 'real Trekkies'*

I'm not really a Trekkie so I don't mind whether it's Trekkie or Trekker. Based purely on the books and some of the TV episodes I prefer Picard. It's much more high-tech tahn Kirk and it appeals to me.

Aximili Posted Mar 21, 2007
True, but I kind of like the hand-made cheap 'feel' of the old episodes.

I prefer Picard, for his diplomacy(not unlike Aximili). But the only series I enjoy watching is the next generation, so that could be why.

Aximili Posted Mar 21, 2007
I also enjoy Voyager, as well as TOS and TNG.

I only really like the TNG epsiodes. I haven't seen any others whioch might explain why I like them so much. Hey I've literally just realsied this is now a Star Trek forum as opposed to welcome to the Thingites.

No, no, you are quite mistaken young Thingite. All you have to do is notice that the subject still says "I want to join the Thingites!"
It is still a Thingite forum because it stems from the manifesto, and because the people will see its original subject(so don't bother changing it). on another note, it was only meant to welcome new members, after that it can become a place to chat or leave so that it dies and becomes very cold, possibly filled with spiders, like mine.
