I used to post to this forum regularly, but had to quit my exercise regime because of health problems. It looks like you've given up on the graph, so I guess there's no point asking you to 'zero' my weight. It's yo-yoed a bit over the last 9 months or so, but I think it's back to what it was when I last posted. So, here I go again. Hopefully I'll be able to acheive my target '1 pound a week'. smiley - bigeyes

If you like, I can make a table. You must just tell me how much you've lost from one Saturday to the other. No weights will be included, as before, just loss of weight.

That table sounds like a great idea, as H2G2 no longer allows your graph. I guess you'll have to start everybody at zero weight loss, or you could use whatever they had when you last did the graph. Or maybe everybody could send in their current state of weight loss. As I said, either start me at 0, or at what I was at last time I posted.

I started back on this to keep a track of myself as well as check up on the other gals!

This mornings weight peeking up from the scales was 15st8, which either means I've lost 8lb in one week (which I've done before when suddenly eating healthy, plus as it's protein diet, possible loss of water retention), or, somebody's been playing with the scales (equally probable)!

I realised upon reading the whole of the H2G2 Weight Losers post again, that I'm completely contradicting myself on what I've said before regarding this high protein/low carbohydrate diet. I guess it goes to show you can't always take to heart what slimming club instructors tell you (especially when they're counting on you to buy their products), and should try these things for yourself!

One thing to remember though: always make sure you're getting the vitamins and nutrients you need!

Good luck! smiley - smiley

Well, I'm back to almost sqaure one (with about 1.5 kilos under my original starting weight), so I might as well be re-set to zero to spur some motivation.

This week I am going to see a naturopath as I have been feeling really run down and sluggish, which I think can be directly attribtable to my weight and it's spiralling out of control!

So hopefully, I will be given a sensible eating plan tailored to my body type and needs.

I've revised the entry and included a table.

It's been a year now and we can start talking about losing weight for Christmas again!

So - anyone else who has ever subscribed, you are welcome to come and join us again and I will extend the table. It's not quite so graphic, but it's the best we can do!.

Please post your weight each Saturday, in the form of

THE NUMBER OF POUNDS YOU HAVE LOST SINCE 29 SEPTEMBER.

If you just put in how much you have lost in the week, I will add it to what has gone before for you. Then, if we are ever allowed to post our own graphics again, I can quickly convert it back to the graph.

So, that gives you a couple of days to get your scales calibrated and buy in fat-free foods. Happy thin Christmas everybody!

Well, she did an iridology test, which means she holds up a device with a light that presumably magnifies your iris. Did you know that every part of your eye relates to a part of your body. The chart was quite interesting in itself.

Apparently, I have slow digestion, sluggish metabolism (tell me something I don't know!) and a phlegmatic personality. This means I tend to internalise stress which directly affects my digestion. She has prescribed me a de-tox diet for a week, which means no dairy (sob, bye bye ice cream), no meat (except for fish), no alcohol (and its the long weekend coming up!) and lots of fruit and vegies as well as brown rice, rice cakes, hommous, seeds, nuts, etc.

She also said I should get my fat butt moving (well, not in so many words, but you get the picture).

So for my $80 I got a sensible eating plan which I kind of knew already and some liver cleansing pills. But I would say it was worth it.

We'll see next week when I post how much I lose on this diet.

It sounds like you've paid a lot of money to be told something that almost anybody else could have told you for nothing! I'm always wary of people who describe themselves as 'naturopaths' or 'holistic healers'. It's not scepticism of alternative remedies, per se. It's just that, over here at least, there are no recognised qualifications for these various types of healer and you can get a lot of people setting up who have limited knowledge (of anatomy, medicine, uses of and problems with various remedies - herbal or otherwise). They charge a fortune to tell you what is mostly either common sense or absolute tosh. They will also charge a fortune for 'remedies' that have no proven usefulness. OK, rant over. If it works for you, that's the main thing.

Yes - I've heard that the irises reflect all parts of the body. My neighbour, who is a little over 60, for example, has sort of light brown irises and you can see a spot just below her pupil in her left eye. She has a pacemaker, which I am sure is reflected in this spot.

The feet also have corresponding points all over the soles, and a French chappie has now discovered that the ear is shaped as though it could hold a tiny embryo and the equivalent places in the ear correspond also to the different parts of the body. (not only feet, arms, etc., but heart, liver, lungs, whatever)

Although these theories all seem incredible, I don't find them hard to believe, as one part of the body often hurts when another one is affected.

I just wish I knew which part of my ear made me thinner!

Yeah, wish I knew it too!

It's wierd, I know anyone could have told me the same thing, but at least it has made me steel my resolve to stick with a healthy eating plan.

It's also timely as I was called at home last night by my doctor who got some results back from pathology to say I needed to get my kidneys checked out at the local hospital. Kind of shook me up - I mean we really DO pollute our bodies and think nothing of it until they break down!

So I am hoping that I can prevent the visit to the hospital through the diet over the next two weeks. We'll see what happens...

Good luck for everyone else.

As of 29th Sep (even though it's Monday...ahem) I'm 15st9b, so I'm going up again...but have been looking after my nan which means lots of cakes and tea and biscuits!

Though I've recently met a wonderful friend who's inspired me to do more with my spare time, being as I'm single, there's a fair amount of that!

This talk of polluting bodies is very true...scarily!

Okay, first week was pretty successful - I lost 2.5 kilos (5 pounds?) Although my sugar cravings were bad on this liver cleansing thing, I punched through it and am absolutely full of energy. Mind you, over the long weekend I was having naps at 2pm and going to bed at 9! For the first four days you feel really lethargic and lack energy. I am seeing the naturopath again tonight as a follow up and will see what she says. I am still keeping my pinch of salt with me, though!
