I've just done some catch up reading on the old conversation.
Excuse me Mr Very Smug Reformed Fatb******d - you JOGGED up Snowdon???!!!! I went up there for the first time last year... was it you that dashed past a very bedragalled Essex girl plodding up the path and wishing she'd taken the one marked 'easy'?
I feel exausted & grossly unfit just thinking about it!
A brief aside...
queeglesproggit Posted Jan 8, 2001
Apologies for not posting a weigh in on Friday, I've gone UP 5lb since Chrimbo, that puts me at 16st 7lb, I think.
Still, going to my first Slimming class tonight, bit nervous, but I decided I need constant motivation in order to succeed!
A brief aside...

Was it me who jogged past the bedraggled Essex girl? Could be
It was Saturday 19 August. Anyway, the path from Llanberis *is* easy...... Well, OK, not *terribly* easy

No, it's a made-up American name. Like Sheriff J P Redneck.
Hey, can I go on the chart on the basis of having lost 2" round the waist since November 28, when I bought a hideously expensive pair of Hugo Boss jeans which now no longer fit? So in a sense I've lost seventy pounds....

*This was posted at the other thread and will be copied in full here. Apologies for any confusion caused by the following post!*
Um, are we posting our weight loss at the new forum - coz I'm not entirely comfortable with that. Sounds illogical, as anyone can read this thread as well, I just don't think I want my vital stats ending up in an Edited Entry (they always post the entire conversations at the end of community efforts).
I was just informed that this is not the article going into the Guide, but our very own page, carry on!
Anyway, I'll post this week's loss here and hope TC sees it - I was quite sick last week, subsequently didn't eat very much (and didn't keep much down either) which led to a weight loss of 1.7kg. I'm not too happy about that, as I was hoping my weight loss would slow down a bit by now as I don't want to fall back into the pattern of yo-yo dieting (quite contradictory to usual sentiments, I know, but true).
I have reached my mini-goal of 5kg loss, and am going to aim for the next 5kg loss over six weeks (instead of four like this one).
I feel that my eating habits have improved immensely over the past four weeks, and my body is defnitely used to smaller portion sizes now, although my eyes are still "bigger than my stomach". Last night we had stir-fried rice (a healthy version) and I found I had given myself twice as much as my body wanted to eat. So I just put it in a storage container and brought it to work today. Yum! I had a few people pop their heads around my workspace demanding to know where I got my lunch from!
Piece of Trivia

In French, the expression "to gain weight" can be literally translated into English as "to win weight"
*Just thought you would be as amused at that as I was!*

Don't worry, Tashalls - I don't think our graph will make it to the front page. And it gives away nothing except how much you have lost; it doesn't say what you actually weigh.
We started long before the towers decided to start collecting information, but the feedback on this topic is gi-normous. It will be worth adding a link to the finished product when it is edited and put together.
I haven't managed to lose any weight at all. I haven't really tried. It must be psychological with me. And after reading Guy's efforts and reading his entry, I am more demotivated than ever. Except when I'm leafing through catalogues - and I think *I could wear those trousers if I lost ... lbs* But then I go to the fridge and forgotten are the trousers.

I know how it feels - I tried this very same method (Weight Watchers) in August last year, trying to lose some weight in time for my April wedding of this year (2000 that is). I wasn't very successful - I cheated, threw tantrums as to why it wasn't working and ultimately gave up. Following the great success in the mere four weeks I have been on the program this time, I gather I simply wasn't psychologically ready to lose weight back then. I simply didn't "want" to (discounting the fact that I really, really wanted to, I wasn't ready to make the effort, so I really must not have wanted to badly enough).
This time, I reached an epiphany, when I decided that I had never had the opportunity to know myself as a "thin" person (although looking back at photos I was at some stage). I guess this time around I am eagerly anticipating the reunion of me and my "thin" self, and nothing is going to get in the way of that party!
It's all mental, I think (as well as plenty of control over my emotional reasons for eating, hence the diary).
I could write a book (and probably should considering the amount of money Oprah has made!), but I won't here.
Good luck!
ps - I will not be posting next week as I am going to Florida on business. I am really hoping American food won't be the death of me!

Well, I don't think there ever was a thin "me" to reunite with. The problem goes back 30 years. When I went through puberty without losing any puppy fat, my mother made me go to the doctor and tried to make me lose weight. It may be because it is a normal thing to "rebel" against what your mother wants, even if it is in your own interests.
Sorry. Very sorry. Really incredibly sorry.

This week's weigh-in: 12st 13lb - 5lb down on the week after Christmas.
Why? Who knows. Maybe it's my new year's resolutions to give up the half a bottle of wine and packet of Pringles in front of the telly every other day.
Sorry. Very sorry. Really incredibly sorry.
Sue Posted Jan 11, 2001
Doing one of your tricks now TC! 'Sorry I'm late!' Should have posted this Monday but RL getting in the way again
2lb loss last week - and some of the Xmas goodies are still around.
JZG - It wasn't you! Wrong time of year (May) wrong path (up Pig/Pyg(?) Track, down Llanberis path) But we were passed by about 3 superhuman type persons jogging(!!!!!!!) I was rather pleased a just getting there - OK so it took me 3 1/2 hours - it was still an achievement for me!
