I think Eddie Murphy would do great for the part, but sadly, Ford isn't African American.

I think it would do well to just use less than famous actors for the cast. That way people would focus on the actual plot and not on their new favorite hottest whatever blah blah. I really cannot think of anyone who would suit the parts correctly.

Luck? That sounds exactly like f**k!
I reckon that the casting people get some newbies in, but did anyone see Hitchhiker on Book of the Future last week? Who was that guy who played Ford? I thought he did pretty well.

I can imagine Patrick Stuart reciting some great Vogon poetry in a semi alien Borg style... How about it?

Patrick Stewart would be better as the book, methinks
Here's a crazy idea - if we're going to have big names in the film, let's have them in roles where they wouldn't be instantly recognisable...

'Tis clear to me. Patrick Stewart is the Voice of the Book.

Personally I like the idea od Sir David Atinbouroug (however you spell it) as the voice of the book.

The director has done bugger-all else, though. Which is hardly good news.
I'd like to see Brian Sewell as The Book.
There are rumours that Martin Freeman (Tim, in "The Office") is a possibility to play Arthur Dent. He's certainly the right age (it's easy to forget, but in the book Arthur is a young man in his early 30s) but I'm not sure he's "English" enough.
