1. I played the violin for about nine years at the usual age. Have played in orchestras, played the piano, sung in a band, sung solo. At the moment I sing in a choir and in a vocal group, and in the shower.
2. There's only one genre that I can say I know with any comprehensiveness and really like, and that's 60's soul. Other than that, I just like singers/bands of different styles, and they don't really form any logical groupings. It's easier to describe my tastes in genres through exclusion: I don't like bebop, speed metal, Viennese classicism (Mozart *is* boring!)or most of current commercial r&b/hip-hop/rap.
3. Er...the badge?

heya, I'm a highschooler in America. . . I play the Horn, used to play trumpet, play piano for jazz band and also just because. . .
my favorite composer? No idea. Maybe Vivaldi or something. But I like to play modern-composer classicals too.
my favorite genres to listen to are rock, some pop, classical, jazz/swing, and bluegrass. My favorite genres to play are classical. . . and some slightly religious stuff, like for my church.
the only thing I want to get from the Guild is the self-satisfaction in knowing that YES, I am in the Guild. And I would like to put that badge thing on my page. ;p

mikeyc0312 - Humans are mad. How else can you describe a creature that spends large amounts of time arguing with itself? Posted Apr 26, 2007
I enjoy singing and have a good memory for song lyrics.
I'm not sure about my favourite band, but it's probably Pink Floydd.
I dont need anything really from the guild, it's just good to have a group of people to relate to.

Hey,
I'm a guitarist/singer and I play in a small band in Guildford. In terms of musical tastes its all very eclectic, but probably leans towards alternative. As for things for the guild, I just thought it would be good fun to chat to people of similar interests

1)I'm a (almost average)drummer and am trying to teach myself guitar.
2)My favourite genre is metal, which encompasses a lot, but variety is good.
3)The odd good convo, and it's always nice to belong to something.
I'm hopeless with computers, so I'd be an useless volunteer, sorry.

2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side... Posted May 14, 2007
I've been meaning to join this ere thing for a few years.... But I kept getting drunk and forgote ::
1. What instrument(s) do you play, or want to play? Do you sing?
Guitar, and bass I guess, and I used to be able to play the drums a bit.
2. Do you have a favorite composer, musical artist, band, or music genre?
Fav artist would have to be Frank Zappa, fav style I guess 'rock' or 'blues', as together they cover so much, but really just about anything goes, depending how drunk I am.
3. Is there anything in particular you would like from the Musicians Guild?
Alcohol, and the badger ... I mean badge, on my PS of course....

This is a belated welcome for Acetegan who seems to have been missed out on the turn of the page!
As part of newly helping to maintain the MuG pages, I've been going through this thread looking for lost MuGs to herd onto the stage.

... And, speaking of lost MuGs, drown_in_cheese (U8126726) seems to have managed to unsubscribe from this conversation thread before getting "to put that badge thing on my page." I wonder if we're meant to make house calls.
Meanwhile, 2 legs has finally arrived. Does the Musicians Guild even *have* a bar?

Blimey, that's a good point. It would certainly explain why it's so quiet.

I can't help feeling 2legs might have got the wrong meanings of the word "bar" and "staff" when being attracted this way. It's not so much a Travellers Rest as a crotchet rest - with quavers rather than Quavers on the bar.
