Amy the Ant - High Manzanilla of the Church of the Stuffed Olive Posted Aug 20, 2000
I will be quite happy to continue to work in the Estate Office part time. The Parish Council and Job Centre threads are probably best restarted elsewhere. Copies of the map can be put anywhere just be linking to the address on my server (right-click on the map to find out where it is stored).
Postcards will be ready by the end of next week and will be stocked in my shop and in the Village Stores.

Amy - can you confirm which way is north on the map please? I'm starting work on the church and need to know how to arrange the inside for liturgical purposes(!)
Come tyo think of it - it may also affect the planting in my garden
Thanks

North is at the top of the map.

It's not too late to rotate churches or move cottages within their plots.

I keep forgetting the powers of the artistic
Although my garden is north-facing, I think it is wide enough to get away with it, however the church might benefit from some fiddling. The altar will be at the right hand end, nearest to the village, as that is the east. In which case the north entrance you have drawn (quite correctly) should be further towards the Western, left hand side end of the church. Coould you in effect rotate the church's outline, so that the side aisles are towards the left rather than the right? I hope this makes sense! I'll write up the description accordingly
Cheers!

Huh? You mean the N-S bit should be nearer the W end?

That's exactly what I mean: (I'm not the best at painting a picture in words)
Thanks for your patience on this

Amy, would you happen to have the original map stored somewhere off h2g2? I'm having some trouble picturing the village...

Yes, it is at http://www.amytheant.co.uk/maps/villagemap3.jpg but Greebo's Lair is missing from the area near the rocks on the left hand side.

As a member of the planning department... um... I feel I must ask what it is you're planning. You can't build on the village green, you know.

Mmm?
*looks up from map*
Oh - no building - I was thinking, now that the harvest has been brought in and all - of a harvest festival/harvest home kind of thing...
...everyone bringing food and drink, games for the kids, maybe a competition for the adults, and dancing and music by the village orchestra *makes a note to check for local musicians on her to-do list*

Ooh, nice. We could decorate the church too. Do we currently have a vicar?

Ah. She hasn't been around much since the arrival of the Cloviskitten.

I've managed to get hold of her, but I think I need to be a bit patient about the speed of conversation...

Thank you!
I'll visit all the cottages to find people to help, but I think I'll visit one cottage at the time to prevent confusing myself - currently visiting the reverend!
