No, I'm not talking about Martin Septim in the Oblivion game this time...
The king of our financial software at w*rk will retire in October, and I've been appointed the successor.
Which means that I'm rather swamped with tasks right now, covering for colleagues on vacation while at the same time learning a lot of new things.
But it's great fun. It suits my analytical, slightly y mind perfectly.
I will, however, demand access to the system from home. When things go ka-plonk (as they always do, sooner or later) I don't want to spend 2 hours of my spare time travelling from home to w*rk and back again.
I've already managed to set up a new user with completely different rights compared to any existing user. OK, so I had to adjust the rights (once) but at least I managed to figure out which of the settings that needed changing all by myself! *proud moment*
Tomorrow will be my last w*rking day before three weeks of vacation - muchly needed, I feel - and oh boy, am I looking forward to spending day and night playing Oblivion!

That's wonderful! It's so nice to be recognized and appreciated for all your years of hard work. You certainly deserve the promotion.

*running around in small circles trying very hard not to hyperventilate*
His Majesty will be on vacation and I'll be solely responsible for closing the books for July for the whole company!
- I didn't find out until today (my last w*rking day before vacation). If I had known, I would have been paying even more attention to the things he showed me this week! I didn't realise I'd just get one chance at rehearsing the procedure...
*settles down to make an extensive to-do list*
