If you can see the Moon

...you're in for a treat!
I've just been watching the glorious full moon rise, it's huge and through the binos you can make out lots of features. The stripy clouds streaked across (small) parts made it look a bit like Jupiter when I first turned the binos on it.
I've sent text alerts to my friends who might be interested, but those around the world will have to look later, and tomorrow there's a lunar eclipse but only from the Southern Hemisphere.
Going back out to moon-gaze again! *waves*

Ditto! As I replied, it's still too light up here, plus too cloudy. I'll keep watching the skies!

I watched that last night and thought of you, but it was very late, so I didn't text you. No moon to see tonight, though.

It's cloudy here too. And I'm later than you, so it might not be up for another 30 minutes or so.

I saw it!
And I managed to get a few ropey shots of it... sorry they're not my best, I just held the camera against the window frame in the bathroom and kept as steady a hand as possible. The moon wasn't up high enough for me to go outside with my tripod for decent shots...

I've just bought a space camera, which I haven't managed to try out yet, as the sky hasn't been clear or dark enough.
Soon!

Looks great out my bedroom window. Hovering just over the trees that line the lane behind our house.

This one connects directly into the telescope and has no lens of its own. Instead of storing the image, it feeds it straight into a computer through a USB connection, where you're supposed to be able to process the pictures to great effect. Haven't tried it yet.

Gnomon
If you can get a copy of this (July) months 'Sky at Night' astronomy magazine, there's a freebe astro imaging programme given away in the associated CD. It's called PhotoPlus 9.
Fraid I've got no idea how good it is as I haven't tried it yet, but it can't be too bad for just the cover price.
