gwnethy, you're posting in a user's journal. This is a semi-private area of h2g2, where people can talk about their personal life. Anyone can read and post, but it's polite not to butt in with unrelated discussions.
If you want to practice your English, try a more public area of h2g2, such as <./>Askh2g2</.> or The Language Thing A1145477.

You can call me TC Posted Oct 21, 2008
I heard about doing that with premature babies back in the 80s when mine were little. I didn't need to do it, as they were all sturdy babes, but with all of them I spent most of the morning with them strapped (vertical) inside a tightly done up dressing gown, with *looks over left shoulder* nothing *looks over right shoulder* er. nothing on underneath. It left my hands free to do the washing up, peel spuds, hang up washing on the balcony, etc.
It's absolutely ideal and the young Harrison will feel very at home like that and hopefully gain strength soon.
Good luck to them all!

Oh, that's wonderful GB, close physical contact will do baby, Mum and Dad a world of good. It is so frustrating not to get that close bond immediately after birth so they have ait of catching up to do. That's wonderful news

It is a superby way to allow a natural bonding between parent and baby. After all, we have all spent time like that with night feeds
Glad to hear the little one is doing well, GB

it sounds like a really good idea. we used to carry our babies around like that all the time in specially designed rucksacks called snuggli
we weren't naked in public, though

I think it's a good idea for them to bond with him like that.
I was a preemie myself, and possibly for that reason, (because I wasn't exposed to it) I can't stand hearing a heartbeat now. If they use it to build suspense in a film or something, I have to cover my ears if it goes on too long!
