This was bound to attract my attention, wasn't it?
Are there any more takers?

wonders when they gonna name alien beings...
Galaxy Zoo
Steve51 Posted Jul 11, 2007
George Dubya would be a perfect name for an alien, pheloxi.....he sure doesn't come from this planet of ours.......

You must have cast a spell on the testers, magwitch...Now how about you wave your wand towards us lot a bit.....

Steve51 Posted Jul 11, 2007
Not quite Magwitch. I am suffering a slight after my farewell party last night, and after trying the test I am
at the moment.. On my behalf, could you please suggest a galaxy name of Tooheys New, after my favourite
...I will retry the test when I stop seeing

This is really addictive. There's a *log out* button, but I doubt I'll be doing that before I've clocked up my first million or so.
I've already found two worth emailing them about, and a spectacular merging galaxy and an exploding star that was (appeared to be) bigger than the surrounding galaxies
back I may be some time...

It's 4:30am here in Oz. The sky is clear and dark. The Milky Way is showing like a string of pearls....It is al beyond belief, and it almost makes you want to
at the beauty of it.....

Pierre de la Mer ~ sometimes slightly worried but never panicking ~ Posted Jul 12, 2007
the thought of having an entire galaxy named after me was quite overwhelming
until i remembered how many of them there are
and how vast this universe is
i shall console myself with being the only in my household
ps: correct, i'm the only one living in said household
and even i am only at home for a few hours per day

We're not naming the galaxies as in giving them a moniker, we're categorising them, Spiral: clockwise; anti-clockwise; edge-on. Elliptical. Star/Don't Know. Those are the only options!
Anyway, they're all named after me.
pailaway have you noticed you can't logout unless a new one is loading. How terribly teasing is that? What happens to the one in current download if you *do* logout? Does someone else get the number? I'd hate to think of it being lost in the ether.
Also, the buttons on the left with the statistics, only the top button "Galaxy Tutorial" is working for me, the next two "Current Statistics" and "Show My Galaxies" aren't clickable links, how do we load them?

Galaxy Babe - eclectic editor Posted Jul 12, 2007
AAGH I forgot "Merger"
Yes, I loaded the thing again and no, I'm not going to get much w*rk done today.

I don't know if anyone can load that but it's so close it's scary. I mean, no black background, like everything else I've seen so far. I mean, it's pink, and looks like a (white) pulsar burst, thankfully it's not pointing in our direction. I better drop them an email about that one...
