Zax, I'm not talking to you- you gave me a duff code.
And for any other poor idiots out there, don't use Zax's code for the angels drop down list- it buggers your page completely.
Right- hand me that bottle of vodka. And that one of scotch. And that one of tequila...
Actually
*Tweetie reaches round behind Zax and pulls every bottle she can find out of that vortex*
Right, panic because of loss of page, now going to get severely drunk.
What dy'a mean share? Get your own- I'm finished my exams and I've got my page back, these are all mine

Archangel Zax Posted Jun 8, 2000
*taking all but one bottle of vodka back from tweet*
You're gonna make a nasty drunk... think you should start slow!
Besides, that box works just fine on my page, and several other people's... dunno what you had going on to make it not work... and if you'd been programming in html from the get go like i kept suggesting... really, tweet, there is NO reason to treat your Guardian Angel so shabbily!
!!!Note to all angels: do not fear the dropdown box... there are bound to be conflicts when major changes happen. if you are still experiencing problems, and believe it is due to the box, please see bruce at the heavenly html helpline (link on the left)
a new version of the box will be put up by tomorrow night. i had to update the names anyway.

Archangel Zax Posted Jun 8, 2000
actually, i just want to point out to all and every, that there is no error in my dropdown box code. the code works fine on my page, in either skin. whether you are using guideml or html, it should still work, as it is actually a JAVASCRIPT snippet.
so there, tweet. it was something in YOUR page that conflicted with the box code... if the box code was even involved, since my page as a TON of junk in it like yours did, and if there were going to be a conflict i would think it woulda happened to me too!
The dropdown box will not be edited, other than to add new members. if you are concerned about a possible (highly unlikely) problem, feel free to PREVIEW the code in your page before you actually UPDATE it in!

*Tweetie marches over to Zax and glares at him- if looks could kill...*
Ahem, this is not helping the not speaking to you situation...
And, while we're at it, I cut and pasted from your page- any error was yours not mine
*pauses*
*grins*
But I don't wanna argue cos it's fixed now.
Still friends?
*thinks- why am I always the peacemaker?*
*shrugs*
*eyes the vodka Zax has left her*
*eg*

John the Rather Ordinary Posted Jun 10, 2000
Well Zax*, the offending bit of code went somethign like this:
<!--------------text about how to add new members
code snipet to cut and paste
//-->
The new XML rules won't let you have more than the first two and last two hyphens and still display right. Was a simple fix to just remove the extra hyphens and took me all of 3 minutes to find the problem and fix it. The biggest problem was finding out how to edit my page when I couldn't get TO my page but even that wasn't terribly difficult being as it was included in the 3 minutes. You probably didn't have the problem with your personal pages as you don't need to put reminders to yourself how to add users, I don't either but I'm entirely too lazy to bother with removing comments that don't hurt anything by being there.

Archangel Zax Posted Jun 12, 2000
ah HA! i do most definitely see....! here i was just figuring people would remove that bit like i had.. since *I* had pulled it out even tho i too had been brand new to html when i pirated it from the big man himself...
as they say... "never assume..."
i'll pull it out of the code pages, and just make a note as to how to do it... or something like that...
just so you know tweet, i'm not serious... i'm in a very feisty mood these days... besides- i get such a kick out of ticking off little yellow birds!!
hehehehehe.....

*g*
*Tweetie stands beside the new Saint holding back a giggle*
Think maybe we should get some smelling salts or somat?
And while I remember...
Zax, you're a thing of evil- a cruel and unusual Saint.
But I still love ya
*takes smelling salts from a conveniently placed first aid kit and holds them under Jeltz's nose*
*waits, with an evil grin on her face...*

JELTZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!OH MY G O D!!!! JELTZ IS HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOOK EVERYONE!!! IT'S JELTZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tweetie, dear... let me introduce you to one of your older brothers... this is Jeltz. he is the THIRD EVER inducted saint!!
Jeltz, this is Tweet. she is a saint, as well as being one of my guardees. try not to step on her... it's dificult with such a small bird... at least she's easy to spot with that yellow color!
yes, yes tweet, i know. it is understandable that you don't recognize him... he's a very busy saint, and is kept running day in and day out what with the nature of his patronage!
treat him gently- we want him to stick around! (but not too gently- we want him to stick around! (hehehehe))
could you go check in at the roundup thread now jeltz? the link is in my last post above!

Archangel Tweetie (01/06/02...) Posted Jun 18, 2000
Ah, I see, my apologies.
Thanks for the bail Zax
Hey, you know those things in the middle of your head aren't just there to look pretty y'know- I'm currently in human form. Anyone stepping on me would have to *really* not be looking where they were going...
Out of interest, how far down the induction line was I? I mean, I was one of the first, right?

Prosthethnic Vogon Jeltz (P.S of Poetic Liscence) Posted Jun 19, 2000
Yes. I think you were one of the first. Not entirely sure.... *pondering* I think you were after me. (On the dropdown list)

GOD Posted Jun 19, 2000
St.Peter - Welcome back Jeltz...
I see you still get a buzz out of being 'rocket powered'...
BTW The order the saints appear on the Angels Homepage is the correct order, so Jeltz is 3rd & Tweetie is 5th...
Now who is ready for Advanced Flight Training...???
St.P.
Guardian Angel - Intermediate Flight Training...
Archangel Zax Posted Jun 19, 2000
yes, and the dropdown list is kept in meticulous order, according to when applicants first applied, not when they were actually sainted.
Zax*
*getting that warm fuzzy feeling!*

Ah, my supreme ignorance has once again betrayed me...
(Tweetie's favourite saying- those with the most intelligence have the least common sense... *g*)
Well, technically I have no need of flight training, but I'm ready and willing to stand by and help if trouble arises...
