*lunges at IIEM with a wrench and tries to find the "abort" button.*
It's behind one of these panels somewhere!

Great news about Cille, Lil. Say hi to Sarah for me please.
I just found out that I did not get The Job. Bleh.

Sorry to here that Gw7en.

Have some Sisu Gwen. Sounds like you need extra reserves of stamina and obstinacy in the face of adversity

I called the recruiter for the back-up company right after I got the "It's not you, it's us" e-mail. She had a lunch meeting but has promised to call me this afternoon as soon as she gets back to the office. Which doesn't really stop me from feeling like I got kicked in the gut. Oh well. I'm sure there is something else out there. I just have to find it.

Sorry to hear that, Gw7en
* as Irv is wrestling with the panel, IIEM burps loudly and a couple of tiny but very sparkly drops of liquid appear at the end of the machine's aft nozzle
* Matina materialises at the side of IIEM, proffering a silver thimble in which to catch the drops.
I wonder how much of this stuff constitutes a dose? Anyone like to try some?

Is it possible to separate the stamina from the obstinacy and make it a 3:1 solution?

Montana Redhead (now with letters) Posted Mar 24, 2009
Thanks, Irv, but I think I'll pass. Until we know the dosage, at least.
Lil, good to hear about Cille.
I'm half Schleshweig-Holstein (the area between Sweden and Germany that's changed hands fairly frequently -- at least until the last couple hundred of years), and then everything British Isles but everyone assumes I am (which is Irish).

*tumbles in damply* Evening all! I do apologise for my unexpected vanishment of the last week or so. I can blame only a deplorable lack of stamina.
Bad luck, Gwe7en.
I'm feeling really rather good. I'm halfway through making an armour prototype, I'm visiting my parents this weekend, I'm going for dinner with my young gentleman tomorrow and he's given me an Easter egg of almost fantastical size, because he won it in a raffle at work.
*passes around pieces of posh chocolate egg*

Magwitch - My name is Mags and I am funky. Posted Mar 24, 2009
Sorry to hear about the job Gwen.
*munches posh choc*
I'm off work again I have some sort of skin rash, the docs don't know what it is. I've sent for blood tests should have the results on Thursday. I had it last week and just flared up again over the weekend. *sigh*

Hi Runescribe. Thanks for the posh choccie.
I remember that, Mags. Sheesh. That must be very uncomfortable. Are they doing a lot of allergy tests?

I've got to get up before the sparrows are even farting tomorrow morning to go to Embro. I could have gone tonight, but I had a hair cut at 5:30 and I wanted to find out how the hairdresser's house move had gone and whether she'd split up from her boyfriend.
(Ok, and not yet, since you're obviously asking).
I'm going to take some horse-pills and go to bed. Sleep. I like sleep.

Sorry....
>>Is it possible to separate the stamina from the obstinacy and make it a 3:1 solution?>>
Eh, not if you want the real thing I think - it's a kind of 'Yihaa - all or nothing!' kind of thing I'm afraid
>>I'm half Schleshweig-Holstein (the area between Sweden and Germany that's changed hands fairly frequently>> Uuuh... between Denmark and Germany?
And I'd be vewwy, vewwy careful with those drops of pure Sisu - potent stuff, trust me...

Poo, Gwen. Fingers crossed for the backup.
I have the evening off. Not enough students turned up so the trainees couldn't teach and here I am. It's like having a snow day all over again.
*Steers clear of the Sisu, however useful it might be.* Could get into the breast milk. Don't think we need the Star any more strong willed.

Oh, and Gw7en - I think the reason you didn't get that first job is because there is something even better waiting for you. It might be out of sight as yet, but it's there, believe me.

Bad luck Gw7en , keep on keeping on .
>*Looks fondly at the Star who is smearing snot all over the nearest viking* Well, it worked in War of the Worlds.<
Biological warfare possibly excessive and maybe in contravention of a UN charter or 3 , but undeniably effective .

*takes cover behind a couch since there is no way of knowing what effect pure Finnish Sisu essence might have on per- sorry - beings accustomed to it*
