*Sneaks in and sits in a comfy chair hidden by a palm tree.*
*Dreads the blog - but will read it eventually - or at least the scribings of the last three conversations*
Good to be here again. RL really had me by the throat.
*Waves to everybody*

Good Doctor Zomnker (This must be Tuesday," said GDZ to himself, sinking low over his Dr. Pepper, "I never could get the hang of Tuesdays.") Posted Mar 23, 2009
This is what happens when a new thread is started after I go to work. Off to read the backlog.

I came on the computer and thought 'that's quite a few posts for only a few hours.' Then I remembered that the American salonistas would have come online.
Must go and do our wheelie bin soon. Oh the joy.

Well done scribes.

I also enjoyed the scribing - and was sad I missed the conversations.
My daughter (34) is on the last stretch of her Phd (Irish History - The Developement of the Easter Peace Treaty). She has to hand it in on the 31st of March. She, her son and her bf go to Belfast the day after tomorrow, so she can use Queens University's library for the very last references.
Her boyfriend, Z, handed in his Phd in Antropology (A Fugitive Camp in Denmark) at Oxford a month ago and had very good reviews.
It makes my eyes water and my heart leap when I learn that not only does he support her intellectually and helps her with author references. He also collects the kid (his 'stepson') from school, buys food, cooks dinner, plays with A (6 years), brushes his teeth, tells bedtime stories and smiles and encourages.
As my daughter says: He's a hero, a genuine, loveable, smiling and and encouraging hero. And I agree. She and my grandson couldn't be in better hands.
Even I get uplifted, when I'm with the three of them.

Sarah just called to confirm that Cille will be coming home tomorrow. All the dogs are kenneled until she can withstand their bad habits (like jumping on her in bed), and her mother has been returned to assisted living in Roswell. Both these things should greatly ease her rehabilitation. Oh, and Sarah is staying here to look after as well.

Tartaronne, what a gem that man is.
Lil, that is good news about Cille.
Morning everyone.

Morning, all. The sun was splitting the heavens here at 6.45am.
Tartaronne!
It's wonderful that your daughter has such a lovely man.
>>If you are a bit agape at the surong I am wearing , I believe David Beckham did it once and I reckon I can pull it off .<< Tod
Well Tod, that would indeed scare the horses - and might give the invaders cause for alarm too
I need to get myself better organised. There's another trip to Beijing pending - this time with my mother and sister - and No3 is being left here to look after himself and the house

Mornin All
High clouds, breezy and cool.
Coughs politely and reminds Teuchter that people from the Isle of Man are Manx. We are currently designated British Islands but we're not part of UK or Europe.
Looks proudly at his scribing gift. That's what I call breakfast a glass of Chateux Margeux 2005 and some lovely cheddar. Thank you.

Good news about Cille & sons-in-law. I'm sure such good morning news is part of why the snow flurries have left us and we now have a clear blue sky

Oh, and I meant to say that the photographers have been out in force (at least in the Northern hemisphere) and been busy proving to us that spring is aorund the corner:

Clear sky when I left home, freezing, Arctic storm - but now the clouds are beginning to roll in, no doubt bringing more snow...
