[Suddenly, someone from nowhere in particular whistles three notes and says "oof" in the middle of the third one as if elbowed in the stomach. Someone else says, "You're not Protoman!" and the first one says "Sorry"! Immediately, a bolt of blue light shoots down from the sky, hits the ground, and turns into Mega Man X. A red bolt of light does the same, but turns into Zero.]

[Zero] [the one who whistled] Could anyone give us a quick summary of what's going on?

*calms his mount and packhorse, then mounts up, looking grim* I'm gonna ride out and find them horses I seen the track for and bring them back here. And you better cut it out with the lightning and loud noises, we got us some serious tracking to do.

*stolls out on the veranda wearing his orange jumpsuit and his purple afro wig. there are many bulging pockets about the jumpsuit- best not to look into them unless one is out of options*

[Zero and X exchange a glance and shrug.]

*waves the (fortunately unlight) caramelising blow torch around, then places it in one of her many pockets*

[Mega Man X is the first Reploid ever created, built by Dr. Light. A Reploid is a robot that can think, feel, and make complex decisions the way a human can. They are also technically not bound to the Three Laws of Robotics as much as robots are, and therefore, after he was built, he was placed in a capsule for thirty years to be tested to make sure he wouldn't go berserk and make all hell break loose.]

[Zero is, well, the second Reploid ever created, built by Dr. Wily, who included in his programming a virus that would remove the Three Laws from a robot or Reploid without annihilating its brain. After annihilating just about the entire cast of the original Mega Man series, he was placed in another capsule and was awakened by Sigma, who caught the Virus from him. Somehow, Zero lost the Virus, and is now X's closest friend.

This quest has a distinctly western theme, so try to have your two characters fit in. Perhaps they should get cowboy hats, or something. Also, please, please, please just stick with those two and no more. Please?

*Looks sidelong at the various members of the party who would be plainly visible through the side of a battleship.* Hmm yes. I think I'll go chase up Amos and that cart for carrying us and our baggage. If I can't find him hopefully that Kid chappie will round up some horses.
*Strides off round the side of the building in a purposeful manner*

Never riden a horse, it can't be that difficult can it? Clint Eastwood makes it look very easy..........
