I'm never going to get that bl**dy ,mug!

When the announcer said that there were some disturbing scenes in Spooks, I said to H that I hoped they weren't going to microwave a kitty or something, I certainly didn't expect what did happened! smiley - yikes

My Dad had a comfortable night, No2 brother is going up to see him this afternoon and will report back.

*finally notices the hubbub*

Webjello? Would boiling water help? That always work well when I'm dissolving jelly for the trifle.

Titania (gone for lunch)

I downloaded a shareware for making animated gifs, and I have been playing around with it, and now I need some advice:

Which of these two versions look better?:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/h2g2GAs/files/flamepic.gif

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/h2g2GAs/files/flamedance.gif

The first one is the whole picture in slow animation
For the second one I first made a slow animation of the hands, and then pasted them into the fire picture - I had some trouble positioning the hands, that's why they are wobbling a bit... but I think the fire looks more alive in this one...

Actually, I rather liked the elegently waving hands and the slowmotion effect of the flames in the first picture smiley - smiley

I don't know... it seems to be everywhere - h2g2 was slow during the weekend for me, and right now it's up and down - postings load fast one minute and slow the next, my conversation page updates only to loose connection with the server a few minutes later...smiley - erm

When the webjello strikes I find it helpful to switch off the graphics and empty the cache. Also, it is worth noting that, in general, the html part of goo pages will be smaller than the equivalent in alabaster (although the graphics are much larger).

Sol

Does that make them quicker or slower... Well I guess that makes me slower, but...

That Annoying Man from Downstairs struck again. There was I, just pootling off to get some lunch when he pounced and followed me. Crime number one, therefore, was forcing me to go to Macky Ds as it is the nearest and quickest place I could get food from, and escape back to the office.

Crime number two was asking me to lunch. Now, I suppose you could justify this imposition, but what kind of idiot, after weeks of brisk ignoration, and in the teeth of a rather exasperated refusal of a lunch invitation asks out someone who is getting married in the summer to the man she has been living with for four years?

I should, of course, have said 'Oh yes, Vladimir loves opera' and forced him to pay for both of us. Not to mention the fact that I could then set Boyfriend on him, who has no qualms at all about being brutally blunt when he feels like it.

Which I fear he did again today when faced with another splendid example of Russian beaurocracy. Still.

Gah! I clicked the wrong link and unsubscribed from the Atelier! I hope this post re-subscribes me, because I can't sit around waiting for the thread to load again so I can click the subscribe link.

I like the second gif, T.
