Aargh I HATE it when 2 come along at once... that's just happened to me. Maybe all the world's funkiest people have suddenly chosen to crawl out of the woodwork... OR maybe they're all ALIENS who have just landed and are on the lookout for single ppl!

While the mathematical probability is not strictly speaking zero, I would doubt that there will be a follow up. The first one said he had to go and talk to his friends, then never came back. The second one was someone I went to bed with last November, who I later became friends with, and who every so often gets very very drunk, snogs me (amongst many others - really must find someone I won't have to queue for) and promises that he really is going to text me tomorrow this time. I'm still waiting on that one.

I can't imagine either of these were aliens. However, you never know. It could well be a conspiracy. If all the worlds funkiest people were to crawl out of the woodwork, and only two turned up, I think the world is in a soirry state indeed!

I give in completely. I seem to find the right person, we get on well, and then it cant work out for reason such as 400miles distance. Everytime we arrange to meet up something happens to stop it - illness, family probs etc, so it has just become impossible, and the worse thing is i want to have a big row about it but cant as its fair excuses. And i do it too, so its both of us.

I was all set to move down there, new job etc and then got ill so couldnt. How irritating. Can't see a way forward as its a stalemate at the moment. I know that if we are really right for each other then come hell or high water then it will work out but last night i felt ill and just wanted someone to sit with me while i fell asleep, as i didnt feel safe and there was no-one. Made me realise that i need more than this.

Getting on well with mine now. I think what happened is that we basically realised that if we worked at it we each had a good friend in the other. The conversation still isn't flowing as well as I'd like, we do end up talking coursework a lot to fill the silences...

Well! lucky you lot... 'least you're meeting folk. I am stuck here in Straightsville with few roads outwards, although strangely two of the most hideous people on earth have managed to at least get off with someone. Maybe I should be drinking more, eh?

No..unfortunately. I'll buy a lava lamp as soon as Wal-Mart stops carrying them. Come to think of it...I'll be glad when all stores get off the hippy kick. Then I can go back to wearing the stuff without feeling like a fad-monger.

Mandragora, since you go to Derby uni, why not nip along to Derby's gay pubs and clubs. For a start, it's impossible *not* to pull in The Vine

Well, I'm shy. I would require at least one other person there, (which might deter just about everyone except those interested in care in the community); also I would need to get some hard pub-experience first. Ideally I'd like a gay library.
However that is just me being daft. Where's the Vine? (I am at uni in the daytime only and commute so have been in precious few of its many pubs. Except the haunted ones.)

The Vine's off Friargate, but it isn't open during the day. The Crown on Curzon Street is though, I drink there quite a lot.
