if you're a lass, do something insanely girly. It didn't take too long for me, but then my generation is pretty relaxed about these things...

So go for the Laddish option then Cupid. However not to laddish like a game a some sport and ending up in the showers afterwards at least not just yet. That was something my straight friends found really freakish for a while actually. The fact that I wasn't necessarily checking them out after football or at the gym. Gee I had every oportunity doing that if I wanted to.

No, not sport Some form of booze up like a pub crawl- just something that involves making an arse of yourself, thus showing your mates you're still the same bloke.

True that would work. Although one of my most hetro mates used to go around kissing guys when on a really good pub crawl. So be careful that the guy you have offended doesn't start doing that when drunk.

Problems with the above: I'm teetotal, and haven't actually stopped making an arse out of myself for several months now - I'll try the showing I'm the same bloke thing, seems to have the best chance of working. Thanks guys! (I'll leave emigrating as a last resort).

I've had that problem and probably dealt with it entirely the wrong way by just kind of pretending it never happened. I don't know whether the friend involved even knows I'm still queer! That's not the thing to do because it's wrong to not be yourself around certain people... it can only ever lead to problems
