A Conversation for Love

When I said 'deliberately' I didn't so much mean misunderstand, as mis-inform. Naturally, people want to create a good impression when they meet someone they like, so they effuse about subjects which appeal to their new SS (tho' it may not interest them as much) and steer clear of topics which their SS dislikes (despite perhaps having a large place in their own lives until then).
Is that any clearer? I can vouch for that, not just from personal experience, but from observation of friends, etc.
New words? How about 'jooce'/'joocie' for someone you've got a crush on?!? 'I've got the jooce for them' or 'hey, he/she's really joocie'!
I dunno. Just a thought!

Aha! Yes, I know exactly what you mean. Sometimes a bad idea, but usually good to start with, unless it leads to lying, which buggers up the trust/respect thing.

Unfortunately, we are all only human... *hem* ...I mean, equine!?!
Some people thrive on lies (personally, I find the truth a whole lot easier to live with). I think 'tact' is highly over-rated (which is what some people term 'little white lies'). I've often been reprimanded for being too blunt (and... erm... sarcastic - though only occassionally of course!), but I'd rather hurt someone honestly than mislead them with a lie! (Where have I heard that before..?!?)
So what do you do?!

Erm... Depends on the person and situation, I'm afraid. Sometimes 'tact' is the best option, sometimes the truth will do.
I don't like hurting people if I can help it, unless lying would hurt them more.

Lies always hurt. My philosophy is that if you have to lie to someone, you shouldn't be doing it in the first place. (That's the simplified version!) Also, 'little' lies have a tendency to grow into hunking great big ones. As one who has been on the receiving end of 'the world's greatest liar', I know from whence I speak!
But we digress!

(Where is everyone? Oh yeah - gone home for the weekend I s'pose. It's alright for some!)

"If you don't care where you are, you aint lost." I can't remember who first said that (an American, I think), but it's certainly true. Maybe you should stop caring where you are!

In my experience people can rarely handle the truth...
And 'sus, we've all been on the recieving end of who we think is the world's greatest liar!

Just don't ask me about _my_ disasters
That's where Hotblack Desiato's group (Disaster Area) got their name, took one look at my love life...
