The Café: Come and Rest your Mind
Irving Washington - Gone Writing Started conversation Sep 13, 2001
*For a while the Café has been converted into a bit of a lair. Not a place to escape the world outside, but rather a place to rest from it for a while, before going out and doing what is needed. White peace ribbons (or, if you like, black mourning ribbons) are freely available and are our one reminder of what RL is doing to us at the moment.
The room is cozy, cozier than usual. The only surfaces not padded enough to use as a bed or chair are the counter top and the tables. The whole café looks like a giant sofa. Over the stereo soothing music plays. The special of the day is Anti-coffee. Please feel free to put your feet up.*

Marv! Haven't seen you in these parts lately. You're first to the forum, and now I have to see if I remember how the First to the Forum Mug is done... c[_] There, the Anti-Coffee is wonderfull tonight, and you may have it in your mug. If I've done it wrong, I'm sure someone will tell me

Irv, you need to change the counter thread link on the main page to point here.

Change the main page? Are you trying to give me a heart attack???? Well, if you insist. I guess I'll add Yossarian Prefect to that page, too.

Irving Washington - Gone Writing Posted Sep 13, 2001
I wouldn't try that, Marv, especially with an IIEM around!
Okay, the link from the main page now works. Yossarian Prefect has been added to the list and, oh, Yoss, if you're reading this, there are some messages on your user space.
The counters are cleaned. The filters are changed. I suppose the night shift can come along any time now.

Good morning café! Hi Marv!
The world looks better after a good nap. Not good, just....better.

That was my brother on the phone. My dad's in hospital, after he fainted in the shopping mall.
Now what?

Thanks F. I think he will be. Our guess is that they have to adjust his heart medicines. It's probably one or two of those that makes him dizzy. But we don't know yet.

Bumblebee, good luck to your dad.
Yes, the world looks better after you've slept a while. I certainly feel better.

A new and soft thread, I like it. I isolated myself for the whole day - no tv, no radio, no internet etc, even no newspapers. And I have to say I feel much better now. Though I couldn't stay away from h2g2 until tomorrow.
Sorry Bumble for your dad, I hope they find the cause. I have to say that I don't know how you feel as to my dad this happened once and forever.
IIEM, a nice strong coffee, please. It's quite late now and I'm about to fall asleep.
