I've got 30 acres, she's got 43
But I've got a brand new combine harvester,
And I'll give you the keys.

Helena, who wandered in after hearing her favourite, David Bowie, being sang so loudly and so well, takes and breath, and shakily begins
Maybe this time, I'll be lucky
maybe this time he'll stay
maybe this time, for the first time
Love won't hurry away...
He will hold me fast,
I'll be home at last,
Not a loser,
Anymore
Like the last time and the time before...
Cos everybody loves a winner
so nobody loves me
Maybe peaceful, maybe happy,
is what i long to be
now all the odd are
There in my favour,
somethings bound to begin,
its gotta happen, happen sometime
maybe this time
maybe this time i'll win.......

A little Jerry Maguire/Tom Petty nod
"she's a good girl, loves her momma
loves jesus and America too
She's good girl crazy bout Elvis
loves horses and her boyfriend too.
There's a freeway, running through her yard
The bad boys are down in the valley, the good girls are home with broken hearts.
I'm a bad boy cuz I don't even miss her
I'm a bad boy for breaking her heart
all the Vampires are walking through the valley
move west down Ventura boulevard.
And I'm freeeeeeee, free falliinnnnnn,
Yeah I'm freeeeee, free fallliinnnnn."

Stuck inside these 4 walls
Sent inside forever
Never seeing no-one
Nice again
Like you
Mama, you, mama, you
If I ever get out of here,
Gonna give it all away
To a registered charity
All I need is a pint a day
If I ever get out of here.
(If we ever get out of here)

Oh Senor Don Gato was a cat
On a high red roof Don Gato sat
He went there to read a letter, meow meow meow
Where the reading light was better, meow meow meow
Thus a love note for Don Gato!

I put horses heads in peoples bed
Cause I am the mob
When duty calls, gonna bust some balls
Cause I am the mob
Don't try to tell it's not one for the money,
two for the money, three for the money
Am I your easter bunny?
Come on
I try my level best, my best to please
But I'm gonna put a bullet between your knees
Baby come on, oh just tell them
Stop blowing the Don, put his keks back on
Cause I am the mob
Stop mucking around with a brand new sound
Cause I am the mob
That Luca Brasi, he sleeps with fishes
Luca Brasi, he sleeps with fishes
Luca Brasi, he sleeps with fishes
Missus
I am the mob

I think I will take a moment out from the singing and answer the few I recognize from Amanda's quiz:
1) Don't Let's Start (They Might Be Giants)
2) ?
3) 1000 Umbrellas (XTC)
4) ?
5) Pretty Fly For A Rabbi (Weird Al)
6) ?
7) Is That Love? (Squeeze)
8) ?
9) Paranoid Android (Radiohead)
Can someone tell me why I knew every other one?
Incidentally, a new stage has been opened due to the size of this one:

*Stumbles into forum three weeks late* Pray God I am not too soon! Have I missed the great TMBG debate?
*clears throat*
Was it something you would do for anybody? Was it what you'd only do for me?
I need to know, because you see,
I wanna thank you for putting me back in my snail shell!!!!

She's not a girl who misses much
de de de de de de, oh yeah.
She's well aquainted with the touch of a velvet hand by the lizard on the window pane.
A man in the crowd with his multi-coloured mirrors on his hobnail boots.
Flying with his eyes while his hands are busy working over time.
A soap impression of his wife which he ate and donated to the National Trust.

You can't just say "Pray God I am not too soon!". It needs a follow through, and you haven't got one.

The Great Luna Posted Nov 25, 1999
AH, finally after a weeks absense I have returned! And with a David Bowie tune, might I add......
"I
I will be king
and you
you will be queen
though nothing
can keep us together
we can beat them
just for one day
yes we can be heroes
just for one day"

The Great Luna Posted Nov 25, 1999
Well, I got another, but its a 90's and I don't know what all of you will think about it, none the less, here it goes.....
"Ya gotta keep 'em seperated
Like the latest fashion
Like a spreading disease
The kids are strappin' on their way to the classroom
Getting weapons with the greatest of ease
The gangs stake their own campus locale
And if they catch you slippin' then its all over pal
If one guy's colors and the other's don't mix
they're gonna bash it up, bash it up, bash it up, bash it up
Hey - man you talkin' back to me?
Take him out
Ya gotta keep 'em seperated
Hey - man you disrespecting me?
Take him out
Ya gotta keep 'em seperated
Hey don't pay no mind
If you're under 18 you won't be doin' anytime
Come out and Play
By the time you hear the sirens
Its already too late
One goes to the morgue and the other to jail
One guy's wasted and the other's a waste
It goes down the same as the thousand before
No one's getting smarter
No one's learning the score
Your never ending spree of death and violence and hate
Is gonna tie your own rope, tie your own rope, tie your own
Hey - man you disrespecting me?
Take him out
Ya gotta keep 'em seperated
Hey - man you talkin' back to me?
Take him out
Ya gotta keep 'em seperated
Hey don't pay no mind
If you're under 18 you won't be doin' anytime
Come out and Play
It goes down the same as the thousand before
No one's getting smarter
No one's learning the score
Your never ending spree of death and violence and hate
Is gonna tie your own rope, tie your own rope, tie your own
Hey - man you talkin' back to me?
Take him out
Ya gotta keep 'em seperated
Hey - man you disrespecting me?
Take him out
Ya gotta keep 'em seperated
Hey don't pay no mind
If you're under 18 you won't be doin' anytime
Come out and Play"
That was Offspring for those of you who don't know.................

I didn't know - sorry
Well, my turn:
Come on, come on,
Come on come on
Come on is such a joy,
Come on it's such a joy
Come on let's make it easy,
Come on let's take it easy.
Take it easy
Take it easy
Everybody's got something to hide 'cept for me and my monkey.
The deeper you go
The Higher you fly.
The higher you fly,
The deeper you go, so come on.
Come on is such a joy,
Come on it's such a joy,
Come on let's make it easy,
Come on let's take it easy.
Take it easy
Take it easy
Everybody's got something to hide 'cept for me and my monkey.
Your insides are out,
And your outsides is in,
Your outsides is in,
And your insides is out, so come on.
Come on is such a joy,
Come on it's such a joy
Come on let's make it easy,
Come on let's take it easy.
Take it easy
Take it easy
Everybody's got something to hide 'cept for me and my monkey.

1) It's "you won't be doin' any time."--i.e. jail time
2) Let's move this to the new thread! Won't that be fun?

Well, this one takes annoyingly long to load...which causes me to play Freecell while I wait for it to load, which invariably means that I get caught up in the game and not look back at the page until I'm finished playing, which means I'm online all that much longer when I should be writing papers and whatnot. Just ask my friends, whose computers I borrow for hours on end.

So hard
Finding inspiration,
Somehow I knew you'd find me crying,
And you can tell those friends with
Cameras for eyes
That their jokes
Don't make me laugh
They only make me feel like
Dying, in an ungaurded moment,
In an ungarded moment...
So long
Long between mirages,
I knew you'd find me drinking,
And you can tell those men with
Horses for hearts
That their (somethings)
Don't make me (leave?)
They only make me feel like
Shrinking, in an ungaurded moment,
In an ungaurded moment...
So deep
Deep without a meaning
I knew you'd find me leaving,
And you can tell those girls with
Rifles for minds
That their hands
Don't make me hang
They only make me feel like
Breathing, in an ungaured moment,
In an ungaurded moment...
