OK thanks Tavaron!
I will consult my friend minorvogonpoet, see if she's going, then have to check my dates, (end of April has seemed very far away, but it isn't really, now) and hope to commit to a yay or nay soon!
I assume there'll be a deadline for when we should commit, and add our names to the list, for table booking etc?
Excellent! Be good to meet some of you fine folks!

If I flew in on Friday the 26th and flew back on Sunday the 28th, would I be on hand for the whole thing, or would there be more things on the Sunday as well?
(Whenever I fly, my arms get tired. )

Once there's an A page, I'll share it elsewhere--I've a few elvised researchers as friends (some of whom I can even remember their h2g2 names)

Excellent!
Trains permitting (the South Coast trains can be prone to delays and cancellations) (probably be easier to fly from the States and get tired arms like paulh.) I would love to join you all at least for the drinkies and eats!
I too have friends, h2g2 Researchers from a time gone by, wah would love to see them all. They live in the States also, we should charm a millionaire and charter a plane.
(flutters eyelashes. Nah, forget it. .)
h2g2 Researchers (USA contingent), arrive in style. (with Dmitri and Elektra on board, naturally). I dream I dream.

Of our place of gathering has a piano, maybe Dmitri can favor us with a piece from those old song sheets he found. If it's a song the rest of us know, we cold have an informal karaoke session.

heheh that would be great!
As it is we'll have to live stream our karaoke session to Dmitri, we'll be in mid afternoon, well away, we'll wake up him and Elektra, 'Morning folks!' blares his laptop, 'London calling! we're ready to sing Moon River.

Dmitri, I feel guilty about volunteering your services without asking you first .
The old sheet music that you have might contain some golden oldies that many of us might know. Then again, it might not. Let me know if any of the following are includedi n your collection:
--Tea for two
--Ain't misbehaving
--Alexander' s ragtime band
--Begin the beguine (with or without Fred and Eleanor tap-dancing)
--Any Cole Porter r George Gershwin hits from the 1930s
--Likewise Richard Rodgers with either Lorenz Hart or Oscar Hammerstein II
--After the ball
--Won't you come home, Bill Bailey
--Hits from Student Prince or desert Song
--Early Jerome Kern hits (English period)
--Later Jerome Kern hits (American period)
--Hits from "42nd Street" or "Wizard of Oz."
If I:'m asking too much, please let me know. There are numerous hits from 100 years ago that are too esoteric for anyone to have heard of. Those would not be good at karaoke.

I have some of those, Paul. Tell you what: between now and then, I'll try to post some karaoke versions y'all could put on and sing at the Meet.
After all, there IS free wifi at the venue.
And just for the differently-inclined, I might manage something else...

The Internet's flaws were deliberate. It was only with hindsight that the people who designed it realized what had gone wrong.
