Having managed to get myself back to hootoo after a long hiatus, I have so this. I shall be in London for that weekend. (So you could send your other self to me Amy)

Gnomon - time to move on Posted Jan 29, 2019
Just realised that I've spent rather a lot of money booking flight to London and hotel in London for the weekend of the 27th/28th April, but the h2g2 officials have not confirmed that the meet-up will be in London.
In fact, other than announcing last June that there will be a celebration, they have said nothing.

I believe they said both here and on Facebook that it will indeed be held in London, but you are right: A confirmation would we welcome

Yeah, between the furlough costing me paid time off, and the minimal information regarding the meet-up locations and plans, I can't confirm I'll be attending yet, as much as I'd love to.

Neither can I. There may be substantial bills to pay in March and June - depending on how well the powers that be have calculated my taxes and pensions
Plus I've already booked - but not yet paid all of - a holiday in Italy in May.
But I have survived not going to meet-ups before and I plan to do it again if necessary

I noticed neither Granny Weatherwax nor Superfrenchie are members of all hootoo-related Fb-groups. Some others may also not have joined or have ed
I have tried to invite both so no-one will be left behind

Just confirming that the Meet will indeed take place in London.
The Saturday night event will very probably be at Shakespeare's Head (as usual ), and the Core Team are looking into possible afternoon activities.

OK... I'll look and found out where Shakespeare's Head is and make some tentative plans, see what seems feasible, just in case.

Guess I'll be looking for an Ibis Hotel near Shakespeare's Head myself. They've never disappointed me

The Shakespeare's Head is the one on Kingsway. Closest tube stations: Chancery Lane, Russell Square, Covent Garden, Temple. If that helps the hotel choice.
