Baron Grim

I should point out that I'm a liberal atheist in the State of Texas. It often feels like being a penguin in the polar bear exhibit.

You heard it here first folks! A genuine Texas biker
allowing for the possibility of a misjudgment. Well,
I never!

"People's Republic of Massachusetts"

...not to be confounded with the 'National Socialist People's Republic of California', since the takeover by the motorcycle gangs, the Rajneeshies and the Moonies back in the period of Mike Curbs challenge as Lt. Governer to the Gubernership of Governer Jerry Brown...

Jerry Brown is back, Mike Curb hasn't any official position any longer, so far as I know, but California will never be the same.

Speaking of weird non-existent concepts of nationality:

http://www.nationstates.net/nation=chebucto_provinces

I discovered this rabbit hole website while searching
for images of the Nova Scotia flag I'd liberate and have
made into large decals for the sides of my new van.

And yes that is the official Nova Scotia flag by royal grant.
So, the nation state of Chebucto Provinces seems to be entirely
imaginary and probably delusional - but...maybe in a good way.
I can't tell anymore. Too old, too tired, too jaded.. ah well.

I asked my therapist this morning whether she had seen the full lunar eclipse, and she was shocked. The Navajo (she is one) (well, we are talking about sovereign nations within the US) have a strict taboo about eclipses in general. When they occur, they stay indoors. She won't even watch video of an eclipse.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm a liberal atheist in the State of Utah. Never really felt like I fit in. smiley - erm

Baron Grim described the situation with Massachusetts pretty well. smiley - ok In the 1960s, Barry Goldwater is aid to have recommended cutting Massachusetts off and letting it float out to sea. smiley - schooloffishsmiley - island

But that just begs the question of how the 2012 Republican standard-bearer, Mitt Romney, also attained high office in Massachusetts and helped create a statewide health plan that Obama is said to have used as a model for the federal version. Romney argued that it's fine for states to have health plans, but not the federal government smiley - huh.

The red libertarian mind is apparently comfortable with cognitive dissonance.

I expect that minds of all political, philosophical, and theological persuasions need some cognitive dissonance to get them through the day at one time or another. smiley - cdouble

I believe I'm a genius, which reality continues to contradict, but I hold to the notion of it anyway. smiley - run

This calls for my latest contribution to the thread "NONSENSE VERSE; OR, THE SILLINESS OF THE IAMBS"(found here: http://h2g2.com/dna/h2g2/alabaster/F69196?thread=6410113) I have no ambition of being pretentious, and - thank Bob - the risk is small: My mind is invaded by something hilarious whenever words get too tall. As said by the great prophet Freddie: Escaping reality aint an option or a way out, a jester's brain will get loud, when faced with well packaged vacuity. I believe the poor quality of this poem proves several points at the same time

Yes, but which Freddie was the philosopher?

Freddy Krueger?
Fred Flintsone?
Frederick the Great?
Freddie Mercury?
