Speaking of Latin quotes, there was a high government official in the Roman Empire who visited Pompeii not long before the Vesuvius eruption. Apparently, graffiti were not unknown at the time, for he wrote "cacavit bene" on the bathroom wall. I know it would be vulgar if translated into English, but having it in Latin makes it seem more cultured, don't you think?
