I'm interested in gauging which 'skin' on h2g2 is more popular...

So which is it?

White Alabaster

or

Blue Goo?

I know asking this is a fool's errand, but please try to limit the chatting in the forum below as I want to be able to compile the data and do a write-up for the Post.

Personally I prefer the Blue Goo but use the White Alabaster because its less noticable at work.

True to the goo

I use Blue Goo, but why oh why oh why oh why does it have less buttons on it than alabaster? It seems that you can either have flashy-looking interface with rollover buttons, but limited functionality, or a boring white thing with lots of functionality... Good way of weeding out the superficial ones I s'pose

i prefer goo but i can never figure out to get my computer to default to it so i normally end up on the pale and insipid version for quickness

I think alabster looks a bit dull and insipid. Sometimes when there have been difficulties logging in, I find that my page automatically loads up in alabaster but I can never find the 'preferences' button to change it back again. Instead I have to logout and re-register.

I tried the Alabaster skin for quite a while when it came out, but I got bored with it and I've now reverted to the Goo

Blue Goo for me. Alabaster is just too formal looking.

Same as Acheron. Don't like Alabaster, but it's less visible at work.

It is classy and business-like. Not nerdy and 1970's.

Just for that, I've changed back to the goo.

Alabaster, mainly because it loads so much faster.

Alabaster hadn't been invented when I started - at least it hadn't been implemented. What's wrong with 70's?

I'm for GOO.

For me, the 70's hit that awkward time in my life when I was a teenager and therefore thought I was God's gift to the world. Everything was so great and so much better than the 60's. Now it just seems tacky. If you are older or younger, you probably don't feel this.
