The poor folks' Friday dinner?
She had:
- 6 mushroom caps buried by shredded crab, topped by golden/brown melted cheese. W/garlic bread
- Caesar salad
- 6-oz filet mignon, cooked to medium, fried mushrooms, mashed spuds well buttered, green beans & baby carrots
- chocolate molten lava cake.
I went simple:
- 6 escargots baked in garlic butter, topped by the same melty cheese, also w/garlic bread
- Greek salad
- 6-oz filet mignon, cooked to medium/rare, mushrooms, onions, baked spud (buttered well), green beans & carrots, 6 massive and crispy butterfly shrimp to share with her, coffee
Our vehicle seats have plenty of room for satisfied tummies.

Supper will be whatever is served at the restaurant I visit. if I go to B. Good, I will have the Power Play burger. I'm not sure what other places I might choose to go to. If i try Chipotl, I will have a chicken burrito with grilled peppers, chicken, black beans, tomatoes, corn, grated cheese, and lettuce. If I go to Caffe Nero, a lot will depend on what's til available that late in the day. A breakfast sandwich with bacon? Turkey club sandwich? A tuna sandwich? This is supposed to be a light meal, remember.

Sunday supper will be very easy, lazy and tasty.
- simple garden salad
- pork loin chops baked with a seasoned breading (Shake and bake)
- seriously mushroom loaded noodles that I made and froze in late December
- creamed style corn from a can
- fresh white bread buns with butter melted in

Someone video captured a woman in China buying a lot of toilet tissue. The video went to YouTube and around the world. Now many people feel that they need paper products. No reason really, just saw it on YouTube . . . . .

I can manage for a couple of months on the toilet paper I have now.
Not sure what to have for supper today. Probably something with potatoes, turkey meatballs, and tomato sauce.

We've a big cupboard under the stairs downstairs; we store the salt in it (for the water softner,), and also store toilet roll in it; its so much cheaper buying in bulk, plus we never run out; so we only buy it 2 or maybe 3 times a year... similarly our upstairs store cupboard, contains a LOT of tinned food,, 12 packs of various beans, tinned tomatos, green lentils etc, and so we're always OK for cupboard essentials, also rice, and other grains live in there... Bread flour seems hard to get ATM
Tonights dinner, stir fried noodles, pork strips, red bell peppers, garlic and ginger... maybe with onion I think.... if not it'll be cod baked, and with potatos… probably made into spicey wedges

My bride has the habit of stocking up on non-perishables, so we were already pretty well set. Lots of good meats in our freezer, general veggies on hand. The store shelves are void of some stuff, but nothing that we need. Some days, fresh fruits are sparse but then okay the next time.
Recently cooked many good things, so more back-up - the most recent a pretty good cottage pie and then a roast beef. So nothing big again until Easter. And that will be:
Tossed salad with a choice of 6 different dressings.
A large ring of large shrimps, to dip in a spicy cocktail sauce.
A 5-lb slab of ham - with bone - to slow bake with Canada Dry ginger ale.
A generous dish of creamy and cheesy scalloped potatoes.
A small dish of oven roasted carrots and asparagus.
And oddly, a chocolate pie.

Last night Roast Lamb.
Tonight Pasta with homemade bolougnaise sause.
In both cases enough for 4 so 3 in the freezer and one eaten.
Means the freezer is pretty full at the moment and I need to use some up before further cooking.

Grilled asparragus, dressed with olive oil (extra virgin), lemon and salt.
Spanish omellet ( fried potatoes and onion) The French omellet is with just egg. I don´t know why , but those are their names.
There´s a bitter divide among spaniards, those who prefer the omellet with onion, and those who don´t.
A roasted apple and yogurt.

That's certainly how we describe them in english the french omelette is just egg but with some cheese / herbs as an extra,
and the Spanish omelette uses potato's and onions and is a lot thicker.
But we also do a host of other fillings / varients, including Bacon + Mushrooms +Beans as a full breakfast omelette.

Omelettes here can hold nearly anything. My tastiest choice, when very hungry, holds a 3-cheese blend, ham, onions, bell pepper (any colour) and mushrooms. I find bacon or sausage a bit too dry, and beef steak too heavy. The fried potatoes are often on the side.

1/2 a small onion, fresh minced, on the bottom, 3 small potatoes quartered lengthwise sliced into 1/8 inch slices on top, layered with slices of cheese, topped with two fried eggs, over easy, a slice of dry toast on the side.

I have recently learned that za'atar is a handy seasoning to have on hand. Air fryer chicken wings and Romertopf roasted pork tenderloin.

With this lock-down, it has re-awakened the military chef in Mrs Rev. Recent weeks have seen:
- lasagna, twice
- navy bean soup
- beef, barley & veg soup
- several roasts
- BBQ steak dinners, twice
- ham & potato soup
... and stuff that I probably missed. Tonight (Friday) will be a home done clam chowder. Sunday will be home grown Chinese dinner. Sticky pork ribs, stir fry, fried rice, egg rolls.
We are doing fine.

Supper is complicated.
My stomach is often unsettled.
Also, i's pretty hot around 5:00 p.m. here. So, I start nibbling. At 5:00 I may have some rotisserie chicken. At 5:30, I may nibble some crackers. At 6:00, I ate some fruit cocktail with Swiss cheese and chocolate bits. I feel like nibbling some more crackers.
The thing is, I never know what my stomach will welcome, so I let it decide what it wants. Some nights it craves certain types of crackers, but the next night it couldn't be less interested in them.
Tonight it would have welcomed a chocolate chip cookie, but I had none on hand, and the Duncan Donuts at the corner is open only for drive=-through orders. I was not going to get in the car just to het a cookie.
Key: Complain about this post
