Fantasy Christmas Carol cast
Cheerful Dragon Started conversation Dec 27, 2013
Hubby and I watched four different versions of A Christmas Carol recently. We had no problems with the various Scrooges, but found some of the other actors unsatisfactory (they didn't look right, rather than not being able to act). So we decided to come up with our own 'fantasy' cast.
Scrooge - Martin Clunes
Marley - Paul Whitehouse
Fezziwig - Mark Williams
Spirit of Christmas Past - Judi Drench
Spirit of Christmas Present - Brian Blessed
Spirit of Christmas Yet to Come -?
Bob Cratchit - Benedict Cumberbatch or Richard E. Grant
Mrs Cratchit - Helena Bonham-Carter
Tiny Tim -?
As you can see, there are a couple of parts we're not sure about. Any ideas for completing the cast, or alternative casting for the parts we've already cast?

I like the cast in post 1 better than the one in post 2, because there are more actors that I've ever heard of. George C Scott made a very good Scrooge decades ago, but he's dead now. Jim Carrey made a good Scrooge in a recent animated version.
Here are some suggestions with internationally known stars:
Scrooge - Robert De Niro [American}
Marley - Christopher Plummer [Canadian]
Fezziwig - Robbie Coltrane [British]
Spirit of Christmas Past - Simon Pegg [British]
Spirit of Christmas Present - Judy Dench [British]
Spirit of Christmas Yet to Come - Christopher Waltz [German]
Bob Cratchit - Steve Coogan [British] or Jason Bateman [American]
Mrs Cratchit - Melissa McCarthy [American]
Tiny Tim - [hold auditions for an unknown actor of the right age]
Scrooge's nephew - Hugh Jackman [Australian]

Tiny Tim? Johnny Depp of course.
If Helena Bonham Carter can play the Red Queen in Alice, why not.
Oh there'd have to be some CGI like Jim Carrey's Scrooge but just
like Jim it's the acting/intention that would bring Depp's Tim to life.

I don't seem to have the imagination to be a casting director. All I can think of for Tiny Tim is Jimmy Clitheroe. Who is probably no longer alive.
Ah, yes. Wiki says he died on 6 June 1973.

Atticus Shaffer as Tiny Tim? I've never seen him [except for his picture at imdb.com], but I enjoyed his voice in "Frankenweenie."
